To joe and padi - we're not talking about my head!
We're talking about parcel drops. 22 kgs is still 22kgs.
And 22 kgs of feathers is still gunna give you a headache.
If you post a cup and saucer and don't wrap it properly,
22 kgs of feathers is still gunna smash it
22kg is 22kg, but density matters. ๐ (It's ok, I've already assumed a couple of those slaps ๐ )
A package containing a cup and saucer is unlikely to bear the full brunt of a 22kg package of feathers on its own.
The feather package is going to have a much larger surface area than say a package containing a 22kg block of lead, ergo the force of the feather package will be dispersed amongst a greater number of packages, each one taking a minor impact in comparison to the lead package, which will hit far fewer parcels, and with more weight / force behind a smaller surface area.

thanks DG for explaining it. I think AP should be using the term pressure (the force over the area)

Just to belabour the subject (and ignoring padi's dogs), how about 22kgs
used with this system of vacuum packing?
Not so large - and would still do as much damage IMO
Those vacuumed things can pack a punch
And what are these dogs doing up at 2.30am anyway?

Love it when these threads do a 180 when padi and stawks have their say.
Maybe they should have a radio slot at 2.30am - that'd get everyone awake pretty quickly.

Hey!! I'm still on topic. Well, I was. It's padi's bluddy hounds.
They take over his puter (notice the spelling, padi and cq)
and cause havoc. That's his story anyway.
Trebuchet that
edit: Delightful sniggers, thanks lyndal
