Ebay you need to reinstate the negative feedback option for non paying buyers. I have had numerous items bid on and not paid for because buyers know they can get away with this as their is no repercussion that affects their feedback score. In fact several members had positive feedback but negative comments associated.
And although ebay may offer a credit for unpaid items, it cannot refund the time lost/wasted on these buyers. Often a second chance offer is not accepted because the second chance buyer has purchased elsewhere in the time it has taken to try and get payment from the originaly buyer.
Bring negative feedback back for NPB Ebay!

Experienced sellers should not advocate to others to breach eBay Policy far less admit to doing so themselves. Certainly NOT on a public board which inexperienced sellers may read and adopt the practise withiout realizing they are in breach and risk penalty.
VERY poor form to do so, and a low act for one to advertise this repeatedly.
Negative Feedback comments left by a seller that directly contradict a positive rating.are against ebay policy

Why? what possible good could it do? Up until about 6 years ago sellers could leave negs for buyers. The result was that buyers who didn't sell on the same id didn't particularly care if they got negs, it didn't stop them from bidding or buying. If a seller had a problem buyer and left them a neg then they invariably got one in return.
It also menat that good sellers had to compete against the worst ones who would always leave a retaliatory neg and if the buyer thought that was a bad theng or they sold on the same id the carp seller would blackmail them into revising the feedback.
No thank you, I much prefer the current system, I have very few non payers probably because along with sellers no longer being able to leave negs ebay gave us the ability to block any member with more than one unpaid item strike.
Not trying to step on anyone's toes but here is a solution for the above in bold-
If a buyer receives a negative because he/she was not happy with the purchase, he/she could plead their case to eBay and have it removed. Furthermore, the buyer could leave a follow-up saying something like- ''DIsonest seller, genuinely not happy with purchase''- if the case did not go their way. If the seller has been trying to blackmail them into changing feedback it will be an easy case for eBay.
I can see how this system can be abused by sellers and also buyers, but they will have a record of this constantly happening (unjustified feedback), so they will stand out in the crowd.
I myself am all for the ''negatives for buyers'', especially if only allowed to be issued to non-paying bidders as this would solve the unjustified feedback problem also.

And how much more are you prepared to pay in fees to eBay for the additional cost of almost every negative having to be reviewed? Or do you assume, as I do, that any such system would soon degenerate into a blanket 'no' on revision requests. Which would still be a fulltime job, so only a couple of percent increase in fees.

Leaving feedback for a non payer does not automatically breach any eBay policy.
As cited in this thread, it is only when the feedback directly contradicts a positive rating that it may be considered against eBay policy,
..... and removed, if and when reported by a policy AND sales contract breaching non payer.
In any case, that is for eBay to determine on a case by case basis.

If buyers were to act in an honest and responsiblemanner there wouldbe no problems.
There is a rash of unresponsible buyers who are costingsellersand ebay a lot of money.
If feedback was honest and open the sellers would not need to leave retaliatory feedback.
I do not want to leave negative feedback . I just want to sell things and sell more things.
I do not want to be jerked around, I do not want to be defamed, I do not want people to lie about me. I just want to sell things and record my honest experiences.
I currently have seven item not as described scores on myaccount, and seven low scores for overcharging on postage.
All fourteen of those scores are completely false, but Ebay will do nothing about it except restrict my selling priviledges.
I am considering starting defamation proceedings for those low scores as Ebay do not provide a fair marketplace.
I would prefer to be able to record honest remarks about those items and get on with life.
but the same six people refer back to their continual comments about retaliatory negatives.
