Buyer confusion over click and collect

Ebay just added this to my free listings a couple of days ago and the first two queries I received from buyers is whether they need to use click and connect to get free post or not. ie they are unsure as if home delivery is also free post..

 

As yet I haven't had a click and collect sale.

 

Anyone else experienced this?

 Confusing for everyone me thinks. I like the KISS principle myself.

 

Did you want click and collect on your listings?

 

I received a email asking if I wanted to participate,  I had to reply by the 16th to say no I didn't want to. otherwise I would be automatically opted in. Pretty rude in my opinion.

I thought it rude as well.

 

I can see the value in it for some people. Dont want to say no just for the sake of being a Luddite, dont want to be a guinea pig for a whole lot of new possible complications either, so am in the undecided camp at the moment.

 

Has there been any KNOWN complaints about using this system yet.

Not sure Lane I only got the message two days ago and quickly opted out.

 

there have been a few threads on the subject, if you do a board search you should find them.

I received the same email.  However it did not have my eBay ID or name, nor was it in my messages so thought it was suss.  I sent it to eBay spoof but haven't heard back.  A check of the email details suggest that its genuine, but if eBay are now send emails without ID or name to sellers its a very worrying security breach by them.  Further as I have 2 shops I am not sure which it applies or if both.

 

It will be interesting to see if Click and collect starts to appear on my sales tomorrow.

I have been using click and collect for several months now and find that the buyers who like the service use it over and over again.

 

I had one minor problem in the very early days but none since then.

 

I have heard some sellers have had occasional problems.

 

A couple of my ebay buyers who used the click and collect service later on purchased of my website and specifically asked if they could use the click and collect service for their website order (which of course they can't). This was the response back from the customer when I said it was only an ebay service:-

 

Thats ok, just post the blanket at your convenience, dont worry about "Click & Collect" this time around. Yes, like you, I really like the convenience of that option on Ebay. I use it whenever it is offered in my area, it works really well.

As a buyer I would love to use it but my local store isn't in the Click and Collect system so at the moment, can't. Particularly annoying with the recent generous promotion.

Hi I received the click and send you can opt out buy ging to accounts then to postage preferences then click no for offer click and send

until something goes wrong, woolies lose the parcel, it gets stolen etc.

No different to Australia Post losing the parcel, misdelivering it, parcel getting stolen after delivery etc

 

One advantage of Click and Collect is that Seller Protection applies once it is delivered to Woolies or Big W. Sellers are also protected from Negative feedback or low DSR's regarding delivery problems if the sellers posts within their stated handling time and uploads tracking information to ebay for click and collect parcels.
