Buyer lying about missing zip in brand new item!1!

Hi, I have had a buyer open up a dispute case claiming that they received my brand new jumpsuit with a tag and that they went to try it on and there was no zipper !!! They even stated that they looked in the bag for it....which makes absolutely no sense at all! My photos in the listings clearly shows the zipper in the back in a few photos. They have sent a photo with the back opening folded back. They don't want to return the item ( as that would prove that there is nothing wrong with the item) but they are requesting money to get the supposed missing zip put back in. Ebay have been very helpful...but they said I can't prove what was sent....why would anyone spend over an hour unpicking a zip in an item that you were being paid for and then send that item!!!

The whole thing is ridiculous and I thought it would have been an easy decision to call the buyer on it...but apparently not. I have request that she takes pictures of the item laying flat as in my pics so I can see the missing zipper...so far I have heard nothing. I don't think it is fair that buyers are getting away with this....by reading all the other posts.

Assuming they opened an IND case, just authorise a return label within the time frame, otherwise you'll be forced to refund anyway (which is probably what the buyer is hoping)

Sometimes they do not follow through with actually returning it, but at least you will hopefully get your item back if they do.

You have my sympathies.

Ebay recently put out something about protecting sellers from false IND's, if I remember. I'll see if I can find the link.

Here - have a read:

You can both report a buyer as well as deduct funds for anything that come back damaged. There are conditions though.
