Buyer not paying for ticket to concert

Hey there fellow sellers,

I have a concert ticket that I need to post express post today for a concert this Saturday.

Needs to be posted from SA to VIC in Australia.

Have contacted the buyer a few times and no payment as yet. I have a very keen second bidder who wants the ticket too and is ready to pay now.

What do you suggest I do? I don't want to be left with a ticket that can't be used.

G

Re: Buyer not paying for ticket to concert

I would pull the contact details for the winning bidder and then phone them asap.

For future reference you are better off listing concert tickets as "buy now" with instant paypal payment required. Then you won't get mucked around. People won't be able to buy them unless they pay straight away.

Re: Buyer not paying for ticket to concert

I suggest you pull the original buyer's contact details and give them a phone call. (To do that, go to advanced search, find contact information: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/ebayadvsearch?_sofindtype=9).

Under normal circumstances, I would advise against doing anything with a sold item until the original transaction is finalised one way or another, but in a case like this the original buyer must know that payment is time-sensitive, so if all attempts to contact fail... Well, I can't actually advise you to sell to the other person, only to weigh up the pros and cons of waiting for someone who may not come through, and who may be upset with you if they leave it too late...

beach_and_home - you're right. In hindsight, that's how I should have listed it. Buy it now only.

Cheers for the comment.  🙂

digital*ghost - thanks for the info on getting phone number. A long while back, the phone number was provided in the contact info generally available. I didn't know we could now request it.

Much appreciated.  Smiley Wink

Re: Buyer not paying for ticket to concert

Contrary to all others advise, you are REQUIRED to give the buyer 4 days to pay then you can open a NON PAYMENT dispute. Escalate to a claim 4 days later to get your FV fees back. To do otherwise is BREAKING EBAY POLICY. The original buyer could report you to ebay if you sell to another buyer. I dont know why others didnt tell you to do the correct process for non-payment, the item sold is irrelevant. Its a plain non-payment dispute.

Not if you contact the buyer and make an agreement to cancel the transaction.

and the concert is on Saturday, making the ticket worthless by the time a dispute is finalised.

If it was me, I'd wear a non-performing seller slap and sell to someone else if the buyer does not respond or is not able to be contacted.

Bsal, you close UIDs, not escalate them.

Re: Buyer not paying for ticket to concert

I cant believe some knowledgeable sellers are advising the OP to break ebay rules.

Shame on you.

Once again, the item being sold is irrelevant to the process. If it had been for any other item would you all be so quick advise the OP to sell to another or OPEN a dispute? An unpaid item is an unpaid item.
