Think i need more than Gin and Tonic to deal with this one.Looks like i will be out of pocket some $60.00 for postage.

Well ok then you never mentioned in your first post that the clock never worked when it was received by the buyer.

So therefore it's a tricky situation because I have had so many item not as described or not working defects which were all untrue claims by buyers, but I still needed to pay for some of them to be returned and when they were returned there was nothing wrong with them so I was out of pocket with postage because I posted with free postage, and received defects for the dishonesty of the buyers.

This is where ebays return/refund policy just isn't fair to sellers.

Fully agree,we pay our fees and have no protection from this type of behavior,It leaves me no alternatve to not sell 100 year clocks because some  members do not have a clue how to set up wind etc.Probably i will now list with local pick-up only which will restrict my listing. The purchaser can the be given a course by me on how to operate these clocks, maybe i could charge for that??? and make some real money.Susan.

This might sound really stupid but, from personal experiences..............(the "faulty" automatic watch that somebody wanted to return because it would stop running if they didn't wear it for a few days)

Have they wound the clock?

Am I stating the obvious here but regardless whether the clock was working when you posted it or not, if it was not working when the buyer received it then yes it needs to be returned to you at your expense for Not As Described.

I think EBAY'S buyer protection and how the postage is **bleep**ing over it's sellers is Newsworthy! Anyone interested in speaking up to Australia about this? I've had enough!
