I'm new to selling on Ebay and I've just had to open my first Unpaid Item case.
Been reading through some of your posts, it seems that some of you have encountered many of these unpaid item cases. I don't understand how this happens. The buyers who do not pay for the items have regular accounts just like you and I. They have positive feedback from other sellers. They are attached to real names and real addresses. They are not new accounts either. Are these real people who go out of their way to hurt someone's business?

Yes I've had the same problem with a buyer. Bids on everything, mine and others, heaps of items and only pays one or two people to keep himself on eBay. It's absolutely despicable that eBay allows this person to keep bidding and not paying. He doesn't communicate at all and other bidders miss out on winning the bid. He is lucky I'm a sane person. We don't know who the non payers are until it happens to us sellers.

@len-5123, the last post on this thread was in 2016... six and a half years ago.
I am sure a moderator will be along to lock the thread due to its wrinkles and other signs of decrepitude.

This is an old thread but if you're looking for some ways to minimise these problems, read the second message by Tippy toes and #3 as well, for some tips on how to block the buyer etc
Yes, you don't necessarily know who is going to be a non payer till it happens, but once it does happen to you, you can block that particular buyer from bidding on any of your items again.
Unless you follow through by giving non paying bidders a strike and blocking them, you aren't helping to solve the problem.
