Their sorting centres are overloaded due to a lot of people in VIC buying stuff online being in lockdown, while at the same time they have reduced labour forces and their staff is having to do everything differently due to social distancing and health order restrictions which really slows everything down. Many containers of parcels are being sent interstate to be sorted, just to be sent back to their original state again.
One simple example of what is causing the slowdown at AP (told to me by a friend who works for them) is that two guys used to open up his truck and start unloading the parcels as soon as he pulled up at a centre - it all happened very fast. Now he has to park the truck, fill in his paperwork, get out and open the doors himself and then one person unloads it.
