Can a Buyer leave a positive feedback with a Negative comment ? Even if the seller was never told that he/she was not 100% happy with their puchase ?
From what l have read up on, l though, (we know what thought did) that if a buyer was not 100% happy, or had a minor "problem", ebay encouraged the Buyer to try to work it out with the Seller first. Am l right in "thinking this" ?

Call it a near miss, buyer could have left a negative feedback. Once there is a problem it is a less than positive buying experience, Regardless of fixing up any issues. It is still more positive to not have a problem in the first place. In effect you are in damage control.
Did you get a defect out of it?
If you can do something to resolve it buyer could leave a follow up to states so, which always shows well in fb as buyers want to know what you do about when something goes wrong. That includes any retaliatory responses.

I would also presume that buyers would try to communicate with the seller to try to work out a problem, small or big, but it is only a presumtion, i have seen feedback to sellers saying "where is my item?".
im not shure why giving feedback saying that is the buyer's way of not understanding how the mesage system works or not, but as for ebay encouraging the buyer to talk to the seller about any potential problem would be good to see from ebay's end.
but sadly now i notice if you have a problem ebay just encourage the buyer to return the item under there MBG (i nickname it the shoplift guarentee)and its written in a way that makes it sound like you are contacting the seller saying "hay i got a problem, can you help?"
But i assume the seller gets a message from ebay saying " buyer is returning this item, pay up and get a defect from us as well, thanks for choosing ebay" ( not quite in those words but you get my drift)

I know a seller can't, but I presume a buyer can.
A buyer can leave a positive comment with a neg or neutral & they don't always seem to get removed so if I were you, I would be thankful I got a positive at least.
There seems to be a perception by some sellers that buyers will or should contact them over any issue. Realistically, that is only going to happen if the issue is big enough.
There are heaps of times when a buyer gets something where they have a minor disappointment, they feel that maybe the description wasn't 100% on the level, but they won't make a fuss as they will still keep it.
But they might want to show that side of things in their feedback. I have occasionally done that, where you say that most things were good but such and such an aspect could have been better.

Great seller fast postage 10/10 just a shame box and case were damagedThank you for your help, have contacted Buyer who was very helpful, sent him jpg's of item just prior to sealing at the AP Outlet. Buyer believes AP have some new heavy duty sorters at the sorting exchange. He saw my jpg's and clears me 100% - great news. So some followup PR really does work, in the Sellers favour.
