Can no longer scan tracking numbers on my iphone 12 but my wife's iphone 8 does it perfectly

About a month or two ago it just went haywire and put in a massive number when I scan the barcode. I get an error message that the number must be between 3 - 50 characters. The tracking number is in there amongst a bunch of junk. 

I deleted and reuploaded the app but no avail. 

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Same problem. My old iPhone 7 worked fine but my new 13 has the same error.

I’ve contacted and spoken to eBay 3 times about this, going back probably 3 months now.

They obviously don’t care, because it’s still not fixed.

Why would they when the problem is with your phone ?

same with mine. updated the phone, now the eBay app wont scan Australia post parcel tracking codes, however on tracked letter codes it works. ergh. technology, fun. fun. fun.
