Hi,
I've been an ebay member for 20 years. 100% rating. In Australia.
Sold an item for the first time. Can't get paid.
The verificaton process is flawed. I dont have a drivers license or passport. Only a proof of age card.
Cant upload the proof of age card as you have to input drivers license or passport info as well!
I've explained this to 4 different people and each time i have to start at the beginning. Nothing works.
Think they have blocked me now so i cant message them anymore. Too hard basket i guess.
Bank account was verified with microdeposits. The first section of the verification process should include the same options as the second section. Am i the only person in the world that doesnt have a drvers license or passport? pointing me to the user agreement ( which takes 2 weeks to read) is a cop out. They should not let you sell unless you can get paid. Worst experience ever. Any Ideas?

While I don't know the ins and outs of how it all works, I can imagine some scenarios where managed payments might fail. Maybe some piece of documentation being rejected or maybe bank account details being changed/closed by the seller without notifying ebay etc.
But what I do feel would be reasonable to expect of ebay would be that no one could list an item on ebay without at least being signed up for managed payments (even if it turns out later that some points of verification failed). We seem to get quite a few posters who come to the boards who haven't even attempted to.

Yes, I don't know how it is possible, even before managed payments you still had to register and be approved to sell, selling privileges granted I recall. All sellers who failed/refused to then sign on to managed payments, were supposed to have selling privileges revoked.
So I wonder how many signed on and have forgotten they did so, seems even some new members have no idea what they have or have not agreed to. And I suppose their are some who deliberately try to circumvent the system.
Managed payments can be revoked at anytime, for all sorts of reasons, with some being purely to do with association.
What do they say, you can choose your friends but not your family.

People get mad because you're listed as able to be paid then they stop it all because you're not a driver, some people can't always drive or allowed to. They ask if you have either DL or proof of id I provided the proof and they still want more.
Its simple programming to choose between the options they let you choose not say you can choose and make you do both. A lot of people who sell at home may be doing so because they're not able to drive.
Apps say you can choose so you should be able to choose if they say you can, its a big company and you guys say its not Ebays fault for changing something saying you can choose but then rejecting it.. XD That's like a business charging someone more money after they say it's XXX price... Catfish of a business model and blaming it on people and not ebay
Dw you form loving people ebay will own all your id and thumb prints to prove you exist. Being you isn't personal anymore they decide if you good enough.

It's not eBay's decision, it's a government regulation for selling platforms to require that evidence of who you are.
Go to Facebook or Gumtree if you don't want to provide/can't provide that information.
