Hi All. I just gone through a non-payment process for an item I sold 3 weeks ago, and when I just went to search for the profile in the Community section, it came back with no search results. What does this mean, if I can bring up their buyer profile from the item sold page? It sound like it could be a fraudlent buyer, but want to hear from anyone else who has been through this.

Do you mean you cannot find them when you put their ID into advanced search? Then you most likely are not typing it right.

I've gone to the Profiles option in the left hand toolbar, and i've typed in the name exactly (I even copied and pasted it to make sure), and it won't come up.

I also tested out a few other ebay profile names and they all worked (including my own).

Problem solved. Not sure why you can't find a member in the Profiles section, but I did a search from the Community home page and it came up.

There are essentially two eBay communities - the one directly on eBay, where people can create their About Me pages etc, and the forum community. In order to be found in the forum community, a member must have logged in to the forums and agreed to the Terms of Use first - my guess is that the member you were loooking for has never visited the forum. 😉

Thanks digital*ghost. That makes sense. Was not aware of that.
Another question I have is: if I raise a non-payment dispute claim againsted a buyer, can everyone see that the buyer has a strike against them??

Only ebay can see that a member has a strike.
Sellers will be able to block those with strikes but they cannot see the actual strikes.
DG, you beat me to the punch explaining the forum profiles....there are a lot less of them than general ebay profiles.;-)

That's really annoying and unfair. How are other sellers supposed to know who is good buyer and who isn't? I should have left feedback before I raised a Dispute Case, but they probably would have removed it once the case was open.
