Cannot mark an item as sent

A buyer bought and paid for a CD on 1st September. I posted it the same day but eBay will not let me mark it as sent and warns me that postage is overdue. What can I do to mark it as sent?

What do you mean - is the option mark as sent just not there?     Have you tried re-booting?   sounds like a glitch.

Or maybe try the Android ebay app as it has the option there and it has never failed me. Make sure your internet is all working right too.

What I mean is that the item appears as Sold, but when I click Mark as Sent it still shows as awaiting postage and I am warned in red that shipping is overdue. I have tried many times to mark it as sent but it still appears as awaiting shipping. Rebooting does not help. I have been able to Mark as Sent many items before and since without a problem.

try signing in to the ebay.com site and see if it will let you.

Try clicking "view order details" and using the mark as sent option from there, otherwise if it's a site error there probably isn't a lot you can do, except archive the order if you don't want to see the "overdue" status. (I don't think you can unarchive orders though, so if you prefer ready access to order details until they drop off, this option would be less than ideal). 

 

AFAIK, the postage showing as overdue will actually have no effect on your account, and it's very likely the item is showing as sent from the buyer's side, based on the info provided last time something like this was mentioned in the forum (though it may be wise to contact and advise the buyer, just in case).

If you're clicking "Mark as sent" next to the order and it's not changing the status, try ticking the box next to the item and clicking "mark as sent" at the top (dropdown from "Postage").

 

That worked for us a few months ago when we had the same problem.

I'm sorry to report that didn't work. It is strange as I have been able to mark things as sent both before and after this item.

What device are you using?

 

I had this glitch on my PC before, so I marked it as sent on my ebay app on my iphone.

 

After some maintenance, my PC was back to normal.

Upgraded programs, cleaned it out, gave it a well over due tune-up etc.

 

So I'm guessing it might be coming from your end.

I've come accustomed to provide a tracking number, so I skip the mark as sent button and just add a tracking number, then it automatically gets marked as sent.
