Still no reply from eBay.
Just awesome.
Faultless customer service, as always. NOT
It does show how little we matter in eBay's eyes, and how much they care.X-(

It's been pinned for weeks

Mind you, has anyone actually 'asked a question yet' ? Most of us have just been grumping about things, probably wrong (couldn't be bothered reading all the posts - bigger than War and Peace)

Yes. I have asked some questions. Serious ones. Soon after Mary asked us to post questions.
I am very disappointed that I haven't got any reply.

Going Postal:
The whole idea of "free" postage is a bit counterintuitive if eBay really "values" the buyer experience.
I combine postage regularly to save the customer money (and to be competitve with Pommy drop shippers).
If we are to believe ebay's customer surveys then the buyers have said "do away with this silly combined postage, keep it simple, we'd much rather just pay more". Sounds about right I suppose!
On the matter of express postage, I just wonder how much that will speed up delivery to Sydney from West Sussex?
Hell, I don't care what form of post you use, no service will manage the timeframes Australia wide! I can just imagine Brisbane to Perth in 24 to 48 hrs. It's doable I'm sure! But only after Aus post upgrade to quantum teleportation gear.
I am in reluctant agreement with the many other previous posters that this may be a cash grab, which I find hard to believe as eBay has, in the past, always behaved in such an honourable, staightforward and enlightened way.

Are we in parallel eBays?

I too have asked some fairly simple to answer questions, that need to be answered and pertain to the value of item I sell.
It is now only just over a week away to the start of these changes and still we have not had our questions answered.
Just a note to let us know that they are compiling answers would do at this stage.
Silence here from management is quite loud and unprofessional!

"As for FREE POSTAGE - please put your greed down a rung or two, do you really think those outside of China & Large Sellers can afford to cover that cost or want to push the price of their goods up by another $15.00 or so $'s to cover the cost of anything over 500 grams. What planet are you people really from ???
I love the threat of lowered visibility for anyone who isn't prepared to 'toe the line on all the changes'.......in other words - we will still allow you to list ....we will still charge you fees .... but no one will ever find you again.......how noble !
Just how many yachts & condos do you people each need ????????"
Well said suitcase...!!! I closed shop a few days ago, third time in 6 years and this is the end. Listing elsewhere already, far more user friendly and 1000 times more classy than this place, specialising in handmade and vintage only. Cool. Like minded souls.
And I will succeed. From the ground up again, sure...plus get my own site up and running as well soon.......and from what I have heard about compulsory free listing...well, it will be compulsory. Otherwise see ya later alligator. Great stuff!!! More percentage of FVF for them...if you incorporate "free post" cost into your items that is...sick.

Seems this is just another (of many) things that eBay is laying the groundwork for to try and compete with (and be) a professional online shopping mall. If you go to lots of other professional online stores (theiconic, etc) you'll see they offer free postage. It's what gets people in because it all seems to hassle free (for the buyer) and streamlined, aswell as cheaper. eBay wants the sellers who can work with them on this, have a flawless selling strategy and can make "free" postage work. It's basically telling everyone to lift their game or be reduced down in the Best Match results.
It can encourage everyone to improve their service or just drive people away. Most likely, in 6 - 12 months, certain categories will have mandatory "free" postage for Store owners or possibly any seller selling in those categories. Eventually, it will be 95% mandatory free postage across all of eBay. This may be years away, yet. eBay seems to be doing things in babysteps.

They tried that (mandatory free postage in select categories) in the UK.... It didn't work and was fairly quickly changed, but still...they've now set up a system where you either "choose" to have listings with free postage, or accept the consequences in terms of lower BM rankings.
