Hi Ebayers, when talking to Ebay on the phone, do you get a fairly good reception with good enough volume ? Have only been on the phone to them four times over the years but it's always been very bad reception and all tho' asking them to speak up, it remains to be only just over a whisper so to speak. Do you guys have a "similar" action at all?

I've only called up ebay once and my reception was good. It may be a landline thing. Try calling with a mobile if you haven't done so already.

I find the volume OK, but sometimes the accents are very hard to understand, I have asked that they speak slower a couple of times and asked that they repeat a statement. But all good in the end.

Can't say I have ever noticed any lack of volume and I have never had any trouble understanding them but then i do come from the north of England where you can carve the accents with a knife they are so thick and ten klms up the road have to cope with the Scottish accent too :^O

Must confess that initially, I thought the call centres were per each Ebays country but I sure learnt otherwise very quickly. Yes, my main concern was the American accents being so blooming "brawd" coupled with how so quick they speak it's difficult INDEED. As said, trying to ask them to speak more slowly.....there's no response to that and they still speak faster than a speeding bullit ! Aah well....such is life they say

They're in the Philipines, where many of the 'English' speakers have weird American-sounding accents.
They used to have customer service located in Australia but those days are long gone.
