Got an email this morning saying that I am eligible for C&C.
I go to look at the criteria, and see that I don't qualify (don't offer free postage etc)
In the middle of the email it says "REGISTER YOUR INTEREST", which I didn't intend to do becuase I don't want to offer it.
Then I remembered someone on another thread mentioning that the C&C is added to the site postage preferences so I go and have a look.
And guess what - Ebay have kindly opted me in anyway, even though I haven't expressed an interest or even actually qualify.
Shakes head....

If you are already participating, but don't want to offer Click & Collect, you have two opt-out options:
To opt out altogether, go to Site preferences in My eBay. Edit the Click & Collect option and select opt-out. (Note: If you change your mind after you've opted out, you'll need to register your interest again.)
If you don't want to offer Click & Collect on certain listings, you can select this when listing or revising your item. Look for the check box in the Postage and payments section of the listing form, or use your business policies or listing tools to set postage preferences for individual listings.

I opted out of C & C some time ago, and aslo received an email this morning congratulating me on being eligible for C & C.
On checking my listings I found that it has been added to them all. In the email, it had an "Opt Out" button, so I clicked on that, only to be sent to an FAQ list, detailing all the advantages of C & C, and pointing out that lower search rankings would result if I opted out.
I had to plough on further to find how to opt out totally (without amending every listing individually).
Not happy at all that my listings were altered by eBay - especially when I had previously declined to offer this service.
Cheers,
Marina.

At no time did I opt into this and don't ever wish to. All our stuff is large letter anyway so not suitable.
But I just checked my site preferences as given above and indeed mine was ticked as YES.
So I quickly opted out.
I don't want to be part of anything that costs me more and makes my life harder.

seems the we opt you in unless you go to the trouble of finding the opt out option is a tool so many companys are using these days. was a time when opting in had to be an agreement before it was put into action. i think it was telco type companys who first i noticed using it. like the auto switching your calls to message strorage system before you could answer the phone. i only recently discovered my landline phone was doing this even after id rung and requested it be discontinued.

I found that we were opted in on all 5x of our selling IDs.
And three of those are auction only IDs where we don't have FREE shipping, so therefore those listings do not qualify.
So I have cancelled out the opt-in on all of our IDs now.
So it looks like buyers are going to be given the option to choose C&C whether you know it or not as that would appear to be the default position adopted by ebay.

There was an email a few weeks ago saying they were opting everyone in (I'm assuming their trial with selected sellers had finished). Most people who weren't interested opted out then. None of my listings qualified anyway, so it didn't show up in any of my listings, but I opted out because I could.

I don't seem to have it this my only ID. My daughter recieved an email & I had to help her opt out. I will check mine again.
The front desk counter @ my local Westield Woolworths are inundated with parcels underfoot! They are getting kicked around, dropped, stacked & whatnot as they have no dedicated place for them!
Have I got it right that you still post the item at your cost? Then customers pickup from their local Woolies? Where's the Freepost in that? I use stamps for LL parcels. It's cheaper!

Large letters don't qualify. There is no such thing as free post, I thought everyone knew that? If you know of someone who can post stuff for free, please enlighten us. Sellers who offer "free" post, the postage cost is included in the price of the item, so while it says "free" post, the buyer is still paying the postage cost. Anyone who offers "free" post and then pays for it themselves is an idiot.
