Click and Send Delivery Instructions

Just putting through a label today, and there's only two options for delivery instructions?!?!

There used to be heaps.

There's only two options now, None, and leave somewhere secure out of the weather.

What happened to leave a card if premises unattended?

Re: Click and Send Delivery Instructions Another gouge, they have to be joking!!!!!!

On Facebook, they reckon it's a glitch that will be fixed soon.

I doubt it though. Rumour has it they're also doing away with 'Do Not Safe Drop' stickers, so that if you don't want a package to be left unattended etc, you'll have to pay the $2.95 for signature on delivery.

If so, it's - IMO - among the worst of their latest changes.

Re: Click and Send Delivery Instructions Another gouge, they have to be joking!!!!!!

This is just another example of squeezing us again, up with the postal charges, down with the service.

The don't safe drop has saved my butt severe times, I always opt for this if the item is going to a street address. AP contractors ignore the stickers and instruction, parcel not taken to Post Office and lost at least I can say that I have done  my best by the buyer. A mistake on behalf of AP had them paying compensation to my buyer.

As a word of warning, don't drop these bags in the red post box, you have no proof of posting, yes you have the record that you raised a manifest but no proof that it was posted. AP will repay the postage but not for the goods inside the parcel. Paypal refunds your buyer because you can't prove you posted the item, no receipt.

I have become obsessive with my receipts, I keep them stuck in a book ordered by date, sure enough the time I had no receipt the buyer claimed non delivery, guess who's the bunny who paid.

This is the first time I have had a vent on the forum, between Ebay and Australia Post it is time the squeeze was felt the other way.

Cheers to all you happy happy Ebay sellers,

"may our lot improve and there be more than two people prepared to bid on our items and less sellers who think we run a looks-see business."

I love new Ebay buyers but how come they think it is ok to not pay, take ages to let you know that they need more time, grump at you when you have called them to say pay up, where in the hell have this lot come from??

Back to the cheery job of packing goodies.

pineapplerose, who if you sit still too long she will snap your pix and have you listed for 99cent (joke)

Re: Click and Send Delivery Instructions Another gouge, they have to be joking!!!!!!

I hope they're right about it being a 'glitch'. I've won several battles with AP because my delivery instructions have been ignored. I would really have much preferred not to have to fight with AP in the first place, though.

Now that the only delivery option in C&S is to 'leave in a safe place', I have been leaving that part blank, then writing DO NOT SAFE DROP in red. I have then scanned and saved the C&S delivery labels as .pdfs, so if there is any problem with any of those parcels, I have proof of my delivery instructions. Yeah, it takes time, but I'm so sick of AP's hopeless service and lack of responsiblility, I'll fight them when I have to.

only problem I see there is that they will deny the claim on the basis you have chosen a delivery option that is no longer offered by Aust post..... :_|

I'll fight AP on that score if it comes to that.

Here are a couple of photos of what one Australia Post parcel contractor considers to be 'safe dropped'. Which is why I don't want any of my parcels treated in a similar manner

to avoid ''safe dropping'' you now need to pay the extra $2.95 for signature on delivery.

Great answer pineapplerose51 ! Agree with you on all accounts lodging over the counter is very important for proof of postage and I have been placing the do not safe drop sticker on them because of the delivery option problem and I have been using Fastway couriers too and so far happy with their services .

If you lodge at a Post Office as an agent for AP, then they are duty bound to inform you that your parcels are unable to safe dropped, and request delivery instructions be changed and not accept parcel if delivery instructions are not able to be followed   😄

Not 100% sure of course ..... but thats my story and I'm sticking to it....

Re: Click and Send Delivery Instructions Another gouge, they have to be joking!!!!!!

AP contractors do ignore Do Not Safe Drop stickers on occasions - and I for one am glad. Unless the item I'm buying is of some fantastically high value, I'd rather it was delivered to my letterbox or if it didn't fit, left in an agreed place. I find it hard to get to my local post office (parking is hell) plus I have to take time off work so if AP are going to do more safe drops I'm all for it. Sign/registered delivery is a hassle if I'm not there to collect the parcel so I try to avoid sellers that use it.

It makes sense to use registered mail (or whatever is going these days) for expensive purchases, but there have been times I've had to take time off work, drive round and round the shops looking for a parking space then stand in a long queue (agony if you have osteoarthritis) for a $10-20 item.  Grrrrrrr.  No more!
