Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a safe way of combining postage once a buyer has paid for items separately? In the past there did not seem to be a potential issue combining and sending items together in one parcel and then just refunding the postage amount to the buyer. Recently though eBay sent me a message (general message to all sellers I may add) about the tracking rate for my business and I was really surprised that I was only 85% because ALL my parcels are sent with tracking and always uploaded. The only thing I can think is that when a buyer has bought 2 or 3 items and I have sent together and refunded over payment that it has not accepted the one tracking number for different items. I say this because in the last few months I have received the odd message from eBay saying 'upload tracking for your order' which i assumed was an error.
I am thinking that the above is why i am only at 85% tracked rate. Now a buyer has bought 3 items separately but I am reluctant to combine due to the above. My question is other than changing my 'require immediate payment' is there a safe eBay proof way of combining once a buyer has paid?

My experience is that you can upload tracking numbers for multiple items on 1 order, but you have to add the tracking separately to each item. Have you been doing this, or just uploading tracking to the headline item?

One thing to keep an eye out for is your barcode scanner. On the newer Express post envelopes (QR code vs barcode) Ebay doesnt accept the longer number my scanner enters. So it rejects those as invalid

Thanks Dave. I have been doing as you do, uploading the same tracking number for the one parcel into the two (or more items) separately. I almost always use AP, but sometimes Sendle so the only thing I can think of as to why i have the 85% tracking upload rate is the combined orders because as mentioned I sometimes get an eBay message saying 'upload tracking to your orders' and it already is. It is very strange because my tracking upload should be 100%.

Thanks. I don't have that problem as I copy and paste each tracking number into eBay orders from AP My Post. Good to know though.

Not exactly on topic but did you know that you can link My Post with your ebay site, and it will automatically put in the tracking nos on ebay for you - and will also allow combining orders. Saves a lot of time.

Yes, thanks I did look into this a few months ago but at the time AP were having a lot of glitches on their own site and so I left it alone. Do you find it is easy to use and are there ever any glitches with it?

Haven't had a glitch for a long time myself - I use it all the time, it is very very easy once you have it set up.

Thanks I will set it up. I think it would make things a lot easier.
