Customer gave me negative because they did not pay

I am really annoyed at buyers who don't pay and still have 100% feedback. I have been doing EBay for 10 years plus and receive negative feedback because I sent a message to a customer who bid, won then did not contact me or pay for the item. My 100% feedback I have spent 10 years gaining is now ruined by one inconsiderate xxxxxxxxxxxx! eBay ...... Please do something about this unfair process!

Re: Customer gave me negative because they did not pay

You're right, and deserving to feel this way. It keeps getting worse... they protect buyers in every way, do nothing to protect us as sellers... and all this does is enable buyers to do unfair practices such as opening cases saying the item wasn't as described and want partial refunds so they can get an item for less money, or not pay at all and they still have 100%... whatever. I actually had a woman day I sold her a sweater that was destroyed by her description when I sent it in EUC, and came out and told me "you give me $18, I'll leave you positive feedback" and it was obvious this wasn't her first time pulling this **bleep**.  After arguing I thew in the towel and gave her the money... $18 wasn't worth kidding my 100% rating and now she's off to do it to the next seller. This really sucks, they had to be a better way to protect everyone, not just buyers.

Re: Customer gave me negative because they did not pay

It is you who should have done something about it. If they did not pay and you opened a dispute and closed it once they did not pay within 4 days then they would not have been able to leave any feedback as the transaction would have been cancelled.

If it has been less than 32 days you can still open a dispute and close it after 4 days then the neg will either be removed automatically and if it isn't a quick phonecall to ebay will see it gone.

Also isn't that a bit of an over reaction to a little red dot on your computer screen? You haven't spent 10 years building up your perfect feedback score as only the last 12 months are taken into account when calculating the percentage!

Re: Customer gave me negative because they did not pay

Well I am going to ask again about negative feedback.

I have just suffered my first NIGERIAN sale.

It is a $ 200.00 mobile phone that I wanted to convert to cash.

Now I have to wait 8 days and can not relist it unless I wear the $21.00 final value fee.

I was hopeful of selling around this time but the buyer is safe, protected by the fact I can not leave a negative so his score will not go below zero, and I can not make a sale at the most likely time.

I have set my restrictions as low as the system will let me and it still does not protect me and I can not warn others.

THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE CHANGED !!!!!!!

At least I can relist it on another auction site. Is this what Ebay wants??????

if the item you are concerned about  was the washing machine that finished on the 13th december just do what PJ said

and open an unpaid item and you get get your fees back and you can offer it to an under bidder when the case is closed

Re: Customer gave me negative because they did not pay

we have been doing ebay for 10 years and have just had negative feedback after buyer had been put on unpaid notice and then put in their feedback "did not combine postage costs"..yes why do they get free rein and sellers get criticised?

This is a copy/paste of some information that used to be posted by another member, there's some stuff in here that might help you resolve this matter a little more quickly than 8 days.

If an ID with good feedback wins your auction then asks you to post to Nigeria, it means the Nigerian Scammer has hijacked another member's account to place bids.

If this happens, you can report it through Account Security Live Help:

http://contact.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowCUPortal&guest=1

and / or the webform :

Account Security > Unauthorised Account Activity > Report another user’s ID as stolen

http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/contact_us/_base/index_selection.html

When an account is reported as stolen, eBay generally remove the listing, email you and refund your listing fee although you may need to request a final value fee.

Check your Account > Seller Account ( top of page ) in your My eBay.

If the final value fee has not been refunded ,you can request it through Live Help General Support:

http://contact.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowCUPortal

Or by email:

Selling and managing your item > Fraud and Transaction Problems > Getting a final value fee credit when buyer doesn't pay

http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/contact_us/_base/index_selection.html

If a newly registered ( 0 feedback )Nigerian Scammer wins your auction, report it through Live Help:

http://contact.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowCUPortal&guest=1

and / or the webform :

http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/identity-false.html

When the member ID is NARU (not a registered user) you can file an Unpaid Item Dispute through your Account > Resolution Centre (top of page) in your my eBay using the reason "buyer is no longer registered".
Your final value fees will be refunded to you immediately.

Put these buyer blocks in place. Go to:

My eBay > Account > Site Preferences > Postage preferences > Show >
Exclude postage locations from your listings from your listings > Edit .......
and Select the countries you don’t post to.

Tick … Apply to all current live listings
Click …Apply

And

My eBay > Account > Site Preferences > Buyer Requirements > Show > Edit .......and tick:

1. Buyers in locations to which I don't post
2. Block buyers who haven't gone through phone verification…
3. Only apply this block to buyers who have a feedback score of 5 or lower
(Having a Paypal Account and / or Credit Card details on file overrides this block)

Tick all other blocks of your choice.

Tick …Apply above settings to active and future listings.
Click …Submit

Do not use a BIN (Buy It Now) option when relisting your item.

Beware of further spoof / phishing emails you may receive . Do not open them and do not click on any links.
As a precaution , run all your spyware, keylogging and virus protection and change your passwords ( something which should be done on a regular basis anyway)

That's not true.

You may be able to get the buyer to mutually agree to cancel the sale before 8 days

Or, you could see if you could work through some other form of arbitration process faster than the one provided by eBay...

Either way, you CAN NOT relist the item for any reason until the contract has been legally terminated.

Re: Customer gave me negative because they did not pay

you did not open a dispute

you only waited 7 days

and

you left a false positive fb

why do you think all buyers should follow the rules when you yourself are not willing to?

sorry, I hate non payers as much as the next seller, however there are guidelines on how to deal with them, which if you are putting yourself forward as a seller to be trusted, you really need to follow.
