If by any chance you're clicking the Recalculate button....don't. It's actually a 'revert to original' button.
When you go to send the invoice, change the postage service to pick-up, then enter 0.00 in the price field, then hit send (or preview the info, and if all good, send).

I presume as they are picking up they will be paying in cash so why do you need to send an invoice, amended or not?

I think all eBay sellers should be aware of how to send an invoice and know how to adjust the total successfully.
Sellers may need to send an invoice for several reasons:
- as a reminder if item remains unpaid
- if the buyer has requested an invoice
- to adjust the post service & price (express)
- to combine items & then adjust post price
- to have an order form and invoice on the record that accurately reflects pick up method and the actual $$$ due / received
