Defect rate report and dashboard...

I only just realised you can download a defect report and see what transactions for defects (duuhhhh).

So anyway, a few things I notice -

1. The percentage they have as defects against feedback is wrong. For example, it says 3.45%, but 6 defects is not 3.45% of my 300 feedbacks (not my actual numbers, just an example).

2. The amount of defects is wrong - assuming they only count one per transaction as they say (theyve actually counted almost all of them, bar one, and it should be counted).

3. What theyve counted, what should actually be counted according to their policy, and what is actually reflected as the number of defects under the defect percentage, are three completely different amounts on my dashboard.

3. I have "NA" written against two defect categories in one transaction - anyone know what NA means?  either way, theyve counted both as defects (I assumed this meant Not Aplicable because the buyer didnt leave stars, guess not).

Nothing from the report, to my dashboard, to the defect percentage, actually adds up. Even when I try leaving some out, counting others etc.

I thought maybe its only updated once a week - but I havent had any defects for a long time now, so it should be up to date.

Has anyone noticed similar?  or any explanations as to why?

thanks 😄

Defects is a percentage of your transactions - not a percentage of feedback received so that may account for some of the discrepancies.

There's often discrepancies, some of them can be traced down, some can't, just from goingby what others have said on the boards.

I know that, because I have the 3-month evaluation, my dashboard shows the defects from the current evaluation, but the report shows all defects.

Often there is a week or so between a defect appearing and the details of it showing in the report, so that can sometimes cause discrepancies.

One transaction can only have one defect to count against you, but it can receive multiple defects. One transaction also = 1 item, so if one person buys 3 different things, it's 3 transactions that can potentially receive defects. For example, I had a buyer purchase 1 item, they left a neutral and low DSR for description, so that resulted in one defect affecting my percentage because it was only one item. But, a few months back, I had a buyer purchase nearly 30 items in one go, they left a low rating for description for every single item and every single one counted against me in my percentage.

I just looked at mine. I'm a very low volume seller so mine is for 12 months.  I have 172 transactions and 5 defects. They have me at a 2.91 defect rate. 5 is closer to 8% of 172, so I'm very confused as to where their number comes from.
