Does freight listed on eBay incur fees?

Haven't sold on eBay for nearly 18 months so the final value fee involving shipping is new to me.

I'm doing pickup only as a result.

Have had a request re a courier and tried to work out a quote for sending to Perth - ended up just giving weight and measurements of chairs stacked together. Thought the buyer was always the one to arrange a courier or backload.

My question - if freight is given as an option on a listing is the seller then charged a FVF based on the freight cost?. I think there is some way that freight companies can now be linked to an eBay listing but would that end up penalising the seller, especially with a long distance delivery?

FVF is not charged on shipping on ebay AU, whether it is listed as and Australia Post service, a courier or as any other 'freight' service.

I would say so. The US site has had fees on shipping for quite some time now 🙂

Re: Does freight listed on eBay incur fees?

FVF on freight hasbeing charged for months now.

Feeling the pinch from these added FVF on freight, especially for interstate and regional deliveries. If your boxed items, like mine weigh between 15kg to 30kg and can easily cost  over $100 freight, with a 8% fee involved its becoming more costly for buyer and seller alike. I have declined some far away buyers because freight is already expensive and add another 8% its just not worth the effort. I encourage local pick and local deliveries only now.

That is dreadfully wrong information. FVF's have been charged for postage/freight in AU since May this year. Might be time to do some reading to catch up with what's happening in the world of eBay.

To the OP, yes, you will get charged FVF on the courier cost. You add the cost to the invoice before sending it to the buyer. Make sure you also add the amount it is going to cost you in fees into the freight amount, otherwise you could be out of pocket if it's a large item.

I knew it was charged since May tahnk you very much. Its been 4 months since its introduction and its just costly for seller and buyer too, especially when freight is already expensive to begin with.
