Ebay Australia gone to **bleep**

Check out not working.

When you contact the call centre you are speaking to a Zombie,

When you try to register another selling name you are blocked,

Paypal fees stated at @2.5% when they are actually %5.1%,

And the list goes on and on.

What are the options for this **bleep**?

For in-country transactions, I believe Paypal fees are 30c + 2.4%. That's what I pay, and have for 4 years.

You have only sold 37 items in 4 years,

i would take a closer look at your Paypal account if you intend to ramp up selling in the future

.

Well here is one for you, you do the sums!
Total amount: $38.60 AUD
Fee amount: -$1.91 AUD
Net amount: $36.69 AUD

You have up to 1 days to refund the payment.
Date: 6 Nov 2013

Re: Ebay Australia gone to **bleep**

That seems very odd - taking away the 30c flat fee, leaving $1.61, that's 4.1% of the payment, and I can't see anything in PayPal's main fee schedule that would match that (2.4% for domestic transactions, 3.4% for international, plus 1% if funded by a non-Australian issued credit/debit card).

Like dave, I have only ever been charged 2.4% + the 30c flat fee, and I also have a note telling me I have up to 60 days to issue a refund, not 1 day as shown in your screen shot. I would be getting in touch with PayPal ASAP to find out why your payments are being subject to a different rate, with less time to refund etc.

Don't jump to conclusions.  You have been on ebay long enough to know about posting IDs.

In fact you have been on ebay long enough to realise that the paypal fees you are paying are not what most sellers are paying.  Try ringing paypal and ask why.

How many items have I sold on ebay in the last 4 years?

as for your other concerns...

1) is this an ongoing concern or a current glitch, as I have not been affected either now or in the past.

2) I think referrring to them as Zombies is a little harsh, although I understand your sentiments.

3) When did you try to register another selling name?

Do you have any applicable restrictions on your current account that may be the cause of this?

4) One of us has a very special PayPal Account because I can  asure you that they are not the fees that I am paying.

I do agree that one frequently encounters many things which cause frustration and inconvenience, but I doubt eBay is the only platform on which this occurs and I further doubt that all of them are because of the limitations and seemingly endless stuff ups of eBay, I daresay that some of them could potentially be attributed to the user either uncapable of, or resistant to, change.

Other options would include a B&M store, other online sites or if one felt strongly enough, retirement I suppose.

As for your second post, may I just take this opportunity to extend you a personal thank you? I list in the Collectables category, so that's 850 less listings with which my listings have to compete.

Bravo!

Re: Ebay Australia gone to **bleep**

Are you sure you are using an Australian Paypal account, the fees for other countries are different (usually hgher) which could explain the discrepency.

I have sold significantly more than 37 items in 4 years, I can assure you. I'm not sure where you got the 37 from - FB of 36 from mainly buying in TWO years.

Which might intimate that I have another account.

Regardless, I pay 30c + 2.4% except for the odd buyer who is resident in NZ, where I pay 30c + 3.4%. But NZ is not in-country. Mine, anyway.
