Ebay Rules and Regulations... Help

I bought an item on 22nd June and when it didn’t come yesterday (the ETA was to be by today at the latest) I contacted the seller asking if she'd even posted the folder (it had not been marked as posted on my ebay), she replied that it doesn’t fit into the prepaid bags she had at home so she would take it to the post office tomorrow. This is now 9 days after auction ended and I had paid for it straight after the auction closing and she NEVER contacted me with any problems about the postage of my item. When I asked her to express post it to make up for the delay (as I had sent her $15 postage for my item to get to me today), she said “We are one family using an ebay account. Your item will be sent today but I will not be sending it express post.” Is it allowable under ebay rules for more than one person to list under the one account?

If there is 10 people listing under 1 account it is still the responsibility of the account owner for anything that happens on that account account.

When you get the item and if it is as described then only mark 1 star for postage time and 1 star for comms and let it be known in the feedback that it took 9 to post from payment date.

The actual registered account holder is liable for anything listed on their account by a family member.

Re her attitude about waiting 9 days,no contact & refusing to post express-pretty pathetic IMO

That attitude deserves neutral feedback at best.

Personally, I would be giving the seller a big red neg on all accounts. Only posted after the buyer had to go asking why not posted, only communicated AFTER buyer asked questions, not mention using some lame excuse about one account and a family....or was she hoping you would just forget all about it????

Hmm interesting but I know one thing I would be happy it wasn't lost in the mail or stolen at least she or he was honest and owned up to not sending it.

They could have lied so I'm guessing that because she appears to be honest there's no reason to doubt her , she maybe one who does not use eBay and a computer that much as she/he said.

Although that is not a good excuse  I always think honesty should be rewarded so as long as I got what I paid for I wouldn't get to upset and wouldn't hold it against them a neg would be pretty harsh, neut well is a couple days going to make that much difference , they told the truth that is better than a lot would do.

Re: Ebay Rules and Regulations... Help

Honesty would have been the seller shipping the item when stated in their listing NOT waiting for the buyer to ask the question (9 days later) when they were going to post it. How would the seller have reacted if the OP waited 9days to pay then say sorry i forgot to pay as we are a one account household? I dont know why people give sellers (or buyers) so much lee-way? The buyer does the right thing and pays in the specified timeframe yet a seller can keep a buyer waiting and people still defend the seller if they can give even the lamest of excuses.

Its a pretty simple concept, buyer pays in time-frame, seller posts correct item in time-frame, 100% of buyer obligation complete, 100% seller obligation complete. Anything outside these parameters deserves a strike of some sort.

Not to be cynical but it's early days as far as item lost in mail, stolen or just plain never sent.

This behaviour doesn't say honesty to me at all and I'd be giving a big fat red neg for the attitude alone.

Bluntly - not acceptable, not honest, no excuses. But don't leave the neg until you actually have it (or if you don't get it!!).

Also, start the dispute process now.

Yup agree with tonali -  open item not received asap, that usually gets those darn sellers that drag their feet with posting moving - though not all X-(
