Ebay Search Engines Not Working - TRS Problem Related

Sales dropped by 90% over the past 4 weeks due to Ebay Search Engine Best Match Problems. We noticed that if we keep our items on automatic relist and they don't sell the first time around, they immediately dropped out of the search engines the second time around. So auto relist is not viable right now. We wasted alot of dollars listing items that no one [or at most very few people] got to see.

Sellers from China with Free Postage have priority, even when their the title of their listings have nothing to do with what I am searching for as a buyer. For Example, I want a 'Vintage Brooch White Rhinestone.' The sellers who fit the TRS guidelines, get first preference on Search Engines, even when their item says, 'Blue Rhinestone Necklace and Brooch.' Not even vintage ... So as a buyer, I can not find what I am looking for.

As a seller, I feel that unless I meet the new TRS guidelines, which are impractical for sellers and of no real benefit to buyers, particularly buyers looking for items with Best Match search, this problem will continue. We've dropped our items by 75% and feel it is best to minimise our listings, rather than to run our store at a loss. Perhaps take advantage of Ebays free listings at this time, until items are being listed where they should be again? As a buyer, if cannot find what I wanton Ebay, then its off to Amazon etc.

As a buyer I do find some of the searches frustrating, even selecting Australia Only (not, on ebay Australia) It is often hard to find items in amongst the thousands that are ambiguously listed in some categories.

As a seller, I just keep rotating, updating product, listing new stuff and so on and it is all worthwhile, sales go up and down in a most unpredictable manner, but still worth the effort overall. I also sell on other venues which just ads a little cream on top.

 got to see.

I know this doesn't address the real issue, but try creating new listings for the same items rather than relisting - it looks like a lot of your listings are one-off items, so you can't build Best Match rankings with sales history, so maybe try a shorter duration or ending a certain percentage every couple of weeks (low views and/or no watchers), then using sell similar or starting from scratch (copy/paste the listing to make it easier). Some people have found this can help with visibility.

When  it comes time to relist,    relist with  SELL SIMILAR,   this will make it a new listing and give it more exposure in the searchers.

The search engine simply looks at what words you are looking for and will return any listing with at least one of those words.

What if you use 30 days and manually relist dropping the price each time?

I tried the sell similar but it was easy to miss something on the list as The relisted logo doesn't come up which helps when you manually relist. I also found  my manually relisted items where getting similar exposure a sell similar items.

I have been having the same problem for a couple of weeks now. My listings used to be right at the top of page 1. Now they are nowhere to be seen.

Here's something strange. As we know, action listings are mixed in with fixed price listings, depending on how long there is to go in the auction. Ones ending soonest are listed first. Well my auction listings are not being displayed in the correct order. In any given search, I will have auctions that have a long time to go being ranked well in front of auctions that are ending soon. It's all very weird.
