So much for the save money on ebay postage labels spiel; their 'cheap' postage for a parcel under 1 kg is $18.91! Not real cheap when over the counter at the PO it's $15.25 (and that's without any discount). And no, I didn't have the real dimensions of the box in the ad, I had it reduced to 20 x 20 x 15 and clearly stated the weight as 980g.
I hate to think how 'cheap' their postage label would have been if I'd put the correct dimensions of 28 x 23 x 14! Would have needed a bank loan!

I’m completing it now; here’s one of the questions

What a ‘crock’ and waste of time. I have NEVER used a label, and after answering that, the next question assumes that you do….so I had to lie on a multiple choice, to continue 🙄
I did answer 3 times on multiple choice, that if eBay enforced labels, I would stop using the platform, and told them to read the multiple threads on the forums.

Yes I did on another Id. I certainly told it like it is.
How ridiculous would it be to be forced to use ebay labels? I can't believe they're even considering it. I'm in disbelief.

I gather you use labels on the other ID?
I am surprised I was asked

I used 1 once. $9.18. I have also used 1 on another Id that I sell heaps more on, but didn't get the survey on that one. Go figure.
You think they'd be better off asking people who don't use them to find out why.
However, we all know how ebay works. They'll go off halfcocked and the next thing you know we'll get an email saying, 'you asked for it and we delivered........' And of course we all know that's never true. If they're serious about going down that path they need to ask every seller, not just one or two. But then they'd have to heed what people say, and of course they don't want to do that.

Just to clarify, you pay the exact same price through MyPost Business as you do over the counter. The price is calculated by using the AP calculator, which is exactly what you want to do.
If you're happy to pay full price for your postage over the counter, then you're really not worried about whether or not you get a postage discount - but if you send just one parcel per week you'll find yourself on band 1 and get a discount anyway. You can still pay for your postage over the counter if you wish (which you say you are doing now), and it will count towards your total spend. To track your spending, all you have to do is get your QR code scanned.
Opening a MyPost Business account is totally free, and scanning your QR code is practically effortless. I mean, you're there at the counter lodging your parcel anyway, so it's not like you're going out of your way, and the process is akin to scanning your Flybuys or Everyday Rewards card.

I didn't receive it, but the last time I used eBay labels was about a decade ago.
If eBay was to enforce their own labels I would use 'free' postage and send using AP labels as I do now.
Makes no difference to the fees.

Well, they did ask me, and I don’t use labels……and, boy did I tell them why!
I think the survey is skewed to see what discounts/fee shenanigans we are likely to accept for tolerating their next ‘enhancement’….good grief!

I did, but tbh I deleted it as I had done another survey for them a few days before.

Hi. I brought this up with eBay 2 days ago and the agent escalated the query as it is clearly false advertising.
Originally, the agent assured me that I had to put in the dimensions for calculating cubic weight. He/she also gave me a link to prove I was incorrect when I insisted that Australia Post do not measure items under 1 kg but when she sent the link eBay uses for calculating postage, she admitted the inconsistency & escalated the query.
This was the 2nd time I pointed it out to an agent. The first told me to select "Australia Post" packaging rather than "Custom" but I said that was misleading and I was concerned Australia Post would have issues with that. Instead, why not correct the calculator on the site? It wasn't like this last year.
I hate to think how much money Australian sellers (and buyers) are owed for these incorrect charges! On top of that, eBay is pocketing the extra commission on the higher priced postage!
At the moment, the only way to get cheaper postage is over the counter for items under 500 grams & 1 kilo.
