Ebay giving me A4 Aus Post Postage Label when i select 4" x 6"

Trying to get my new Dymo 4Xl label printer working and noticed ebay will give me an A4 label not the selected 4" x 6" but when i click preview it shows me the correct 4" x 6" label that prints perfectly.

Any one have any idea? i just created a postage label three times and all three times it gave me an A4 label not the 4" x 6" yet the previews label works 100% every time ebay juist wont give me the 4" x 6" i select and save.

All I could find on the issue is a tutorial pubished by Dymo themselves (geared for the US site and I don't know how long ago - I do know the basic option is available here to change to a 4x6" PDF, but not to select which printer you're using as they talk about in the tut, so I don't think it will help as you mentioned already switching the options available here).

And a thread from 4 years ago, which mentions using an online tool called Crop PDF which apparently cuts all the white space from a PDF so you are just left with the label to print (this should hopefully work since the label size is 4x6" even on an A4 page).

When you process a label, on the left side of ebay screen check for 4x6 PDF is selected.  Hit change and produce a test label in PDF format.  When you open the PDF if the test label fills the page it is correct 4x6 format and the problem is your end and more likely the form size in printer settings.

If you are using a Windows PC, check Printer Preferences to see if 4x6 label form is installed and selected, not A4 as default.

It isn't a dymo issue though, it's eBay giving me a A4 pdf to print front instead of the 4" x 6" that I select on their website before I create label.

The machine works perfectly.

I am just presuming we are talking about the size of the label not the size of the paper? If you are getting a pdf, have you selected to change the size within the pdf? I always choose "actual size" and it prints in the size I have selected with my printer, although I am using a Canon printer, so don't know if this works the same way with yours. I do however use A4 paper, but the label I am printing is not printed A4 size, but the size I have selected in the PDF.

Re: Ebay giving me A4 Aus Post Postage Label when i select 4" x 6"

I was given this info thanks to another  seller couple of years ago dymo 4xl works fine for me using an imac.

1. When in Ebay and you go to Print Label, once the print screen opens, go down to "Open PDF in Preview".

2. When Preview opens, go to "File", then "Save". I have a folder on my desktop marked "Orders" and this is where I save it to. You should be able t set it up

that it will automatically save to this folder.

3. When I go to where I have saved, then click "Print"

4. When print opens up, change settings to Dymo Printer.

5. Down bottom left side of print window, click on "Page Setup....you may have to click YES to proceed.

6. When this window opens up, make sure it is set as :- Settings: Page Attributes, Format For: DYMO LabelWriter 4XL, Paper Size 1744907 4 in x 6 in,

Orientation: Portrait, Scale 90%, then click OK.

7. This should then take you back to PRINTER SCREEN. Make sure Printer is shown as DYMO LabelWriter 4XL, Custom Scale: 90% Orientation: Portrait

and Custom size down to 90%............Once this is set up, it will be right to go.

8

With each print thereafter, you will manually have to change Custom size down to 90% as it does not save permanently. Occasionally you will also have to go into "Page Setup" and reselect paper size as in 6 above.

9 also makes print as image is selected in advanced

If you set up that when you save PDF, it will automatically save into a folder on your desktop, which should hold the Dymo Printer set up permanently, except for the Custom Size of 90%.
