Hi all,
I have had issues with Ebay in the past, but this new problem has led me write on this forum. I believe it is something that needs serious attention from Ebay and awareness amongst sellers.
The issue:
- If I check my 'Manage My Store' it states 12386 active listings.
- If I check my 'Selling Manger Pro' it states that I have 1346 'active listings' in one area and 26772 'active listings' on the same page.
- I have screen shots of all these.
- The worst part is, the 'Manage My Store' active listing number actually changes from 1346 to 12386 day to day!
How it has affected us:
We have been subscribed to a Anchor level store and pay $549.95AUD per month as there are unlimted free listing insertions. Something we would need based on the active listing numbers presented to us.
The next level down(Feature Store) only has 1500 free listings and costs $54.95AUD. We have subscribed to the Anchor store for several years now because Ebay informs us(through their system) that we have far more than 1500 active lsitings. If we had to pay inertion fees on the supposed 12396 listings our monthly fees would be staggering.
So in summary, we have been paying an extra $500AUD per month for a store subscription level that has no benefit at all. This is all due to Ebay's misleading information.
We called Ebay about this and even the representative acknowledged the misleading nature of the information presented to us. The confirmed we only have 1346 listings. After several emails and calls there is only silence now. If they promise a call back from your so called 'account manager', do not expect the phone to ring.
They have acknowledged a techincal error and applied for a credit but there is no response now.
We are now planning to take legal action as the amount in question over several years is not small for us. We are waiting to hear from them first but it does not seem likely.
We urge all other sellers who read this to carefully review their active lsiting numbers and confirm with Ebay directly as their online system cannot be trusted due to it's inaccuracy.

This is the second thread about the same issue that I have responded on in the last couple of minutes.
Your shop is showing me 582 listings on this ID as well as on my other ID.
I think this is just the beginning of the reports of this problem....there will be an avalanche of reports when other storeholders discover it.

Go to 'my selling'. Or SMP.
How many listings are showing?
My listings show the number of listings I have. using either 'my selling' or SMP. Or Sm for a couple of accounts. Do you have variation listings? That might have something to do with it.
I find it hard to believe you don't know whether you have 1346 or 12386 listings. Surely you would have at least an order of magnitude of an idea of how many items you have listed.
You could always knock your store back to featured and see how many thousands of dollars of insertion fees you get hit with next month. That would be fairly definitive.
Oh, yeah. It is Friday

I have tried your listings on several different ID,s and through several different ebay links. I consistently get 582 listings coming up. No other numbers.

In your blurb for your store, you state that " you are based in Australia with manufacturing in China. " When I look at your profile it shows you as registered in Singapore. Your postage shows your items coming from overseas. So which one is it ? Are you Australian or internationalaly based.
Theres nothing wrong with dropshipping when it is clearly labled as such, but are you deliberatly misleading people by stating you are based in Australia ???? International sellers, misleading buyers about their true location is a huge problem on the ebay Australia site.

We actually have a lot of listings that we have removed several years back. We also list on at least 5 other international ebay sites in mulitple languages. If I view 'SMP' or 'My Selling' there are various numbers quoted for 'active listings'. The biggest problem is that these numbers CHANGE. They alternate between 1346 and 12386 on the same page on different visits. To make things more confusing, we sell multiple quantities of each listing. I thought that this may play into the numbers. After scouring ebay forums and their website, there is no where that actually confirms if a single listing with multiple quanitities is counted as a single 'active listing ' or more than one. Anyway, we have downgraded our store and now the fees have come down to a reasonable level. So it seems as though 1346 is the actual 'active listings' we have. Still no response from ebay though.
I think it's counted as more than one. I've done searches where the results might say there are 150 results, but there are only 25 showing. I lost track of how many times I refreshed trying to get the 150 that it was showing me to show. Then I realised they were multivariation listings. If each of the 25 listings had 6 variations, there are actually 150 items available, but only 25 listings showing. Does that make sense?
