Ebay's postage fee - if this doesn't make you laugh then nothing will!

Just before I leave greedybay or feebay or whatever it may be called these days, I thought I'd share their latest (supposed) justification of their illegal postage fee - as everybody knows when you profit from a service you have to provide assurances and guarantees for that same service... but not when it comes to greedybay.

Here's a direct copy and paste straight from the horses mouth and obviously done in Filipino-English not that I knew such a dialect existed....

we only get a percentage of the postage if the item is already been shipped. We charged you not because we just get the amount form you but because eBay advertise Australian Post to the seller so thats why you will be charged by eBay when you use Australian postage.

So that was it and "What the ...." indeed!

I've lost track of the number of complaints I've lodged with them, and not just for their illegal postage fee as there's way too much wrong and deceitful with this whole place.   I've also lost track of the different excuses they keep using, none of which make any sense at all, but so far this one is the funniest of all of them and if anybody knows what it means then you're an absolute marvel ๐Ÿ™‚

My new friends in the media thought it was a cracker too so hopefully they'll do their job and reveal what ebay really does behind the scenes as there's far too many people that have no idea at all.

They say they're all about giving the buyer the best experience possible which is why there's no regard for sellers, but it seems like thank you notes and personal messages to peoples paypal email addresses is the only real way to give buyers the best experience possible by informing them who really gets their money.

By the way... I was able to cancel a listing here and list it elsewhere for $14 less and I still made $2 more - I had no interest in the $2 more as I'm about giving buyers the best experience possible too - but what a complete rip off this joint really is and that's just one example from hundreds.

Just about done with this dump though - so "hooray" "hooray" no more need for greedybay! ๐Ÿ™‚

That does make me laugh, but probably not for the same reasons as you.... Honestly, there's no point being angry, or anything else, about something a CS rep tells when it comes to things like this, because most of the time the responses are ill-informed half-truths (at best), based on litte more than eBay spin, rather than fact.

by the way you dont have to sell here ,

also arnt you conning the buyers stating [free postage]   unless you put your goods on your backpack and take the goods on your bike and deliver them. mmmmm  no difference to me you con buyers that you will not charge a delivery fee,

ad how many times did sellers sell $50 items for $1  and add an extra $49 to the delivery fee so that there ebay fee would be a % of the $1.     did you ever post and call these sellers [greedsellers].    anyway no bodys forcing you to sell here .

yes it did make me laugh when a bloke I know a few years ago told me he sold all his unwanted goods in a month on ebay .

over 100 items got about $5.000 for all the sales, and I said it must of cost you a lot on ebay fees and he said yes nearly $2.00

If you think the postage fee is actually illegal... why are you continually complaining to THEM about it?

Isnt that a little like making a complaint to the shoplifter for shoplifting?

Also, if you dont like paying it - you realise you dont have to, right?  Just dont sell here. Its very clear and open fee. Its written on their website. Its not like some of the other stuff theyve been accused of that is shadowy / behind the scenes / not transparent where you dont know, therefore you dont have a choice.

You choose to be here, you know about the fee, you chose to list regardless.... THEN complain?

I dont understand kids these days.  Lol

Hi,

You are absolutely right but most of sellers will not going to support you, because most of them feel very happy by this exploitation. The only way to complaint to consumer affairs department ( I did ) and see if they can help. Otherwise no hope, or help will be given by Feebay or by any other source.

We all know why they include charges on postage so we can skip that bit, but ebay should be ashamed of themselves if they hire anyone whose emailed replies are as illiterate as that one.

I've had some dopey replies from them before this, and replies that actually didn't even touch on the question, believe it or not. But they were always reasonably written. I always got the impression the techs must have supplied about 40 pre-written answers and the ebay reps just cut and pasted.

Hi mate.  Before you go, can you let us know what the other site was that you sold items on?  Thanks in advance.

I've tried Swapmeet, Quicksales, Gumtree and SwapAce bur have not any success.
