Hiya
Just wanted to vent as I received my first 'neutral' feedback today. Ok, I sell used DVDs and I do state that there may be problems, however if this is the case, I am willing to give a refund and have done for all my customers that are not happy.
Today this customer never emailed me or anything and then put up neutral feedback which makes me look really bad. Even though I am a powerseller with 100% positive feedback, as a used DVD seller this can kill my business.
Why can't ebay allow us to view negative or neutral feedback first and approach the buyer to come to an agreement before they post it up? Cos I would have been happy to refund this seller rather than trash my business and make me look bad.
I do try to test all my DVDs but of course watching 120 minutes of footage each time I send out a DVD is a little too much. I do play them in the background and have a disc cleaner but in my line of sale, it's not always guaranteed as it could even get scratched through the post, so I offer a full refund because of this.
Uggh am really frustrated and am already feeling the drop in my sales this month, the neutral feedback just isn't going to help me at all.
Thanks for listening to me vent.. if anyone reads this ๐

I'm a buyer (never been a seller) and I think your idea of an 'advanced warning' sent by eBay to the seller re possible Neutral or Negative feedback is a very good idea.
I always contact the seller first if I am not happy with my purchase and most have been great in fixing things....but a few did not bother to reply or took ages to get back to me.
If eBay sent them a warning message and there was a response cut off date (a few days perhaps?) before the buyer left feedback maybe they wouldn't be so tardy, and would work better with the buyer to resolve the issue.
I have to say in my buying experience I've had very few problems but you never know what might happen in the future.

I personally think that once you leave a comment on the neutral feedback then you should be fine ๐ I am someone who normally checks feedback, and even if someone has a couple of negatives, if they leave a clear and concise comment then I feel better about purchasing a product from them. Whereas if no comment is made, you have to wonder. Everyone knows there are some interesting buyers out there who won't resolve issues, and I think people understand that ๐

You can request the buyer review the feedback and let them know had they contacted you 1st they wouldn't have been dissapointed as you are willing to offer a refund upon return of the item.
Note nuetral fb does not affect your seller rating, but I can commiserate with you having been in the same boat. The only time ebay will agree to remove the feedback is i the remarks left are vulgar or defammatory.

What are you complaining about? You only have one Neg.. It's hardly the end of the world.. If you're that worried, start a new ID and start over

I wouldnt stress too much. Its unlikely to impact sales and its fairly gentle. The comment you left is constructive.
Weve had two neutrals in the last few weeks.both with no contact. The first one claimed item not as described, which causd us some concern as the only way we could think this could have occured was we had mixed up some orders. It also looked bad ... turns out that the customer was upset that their 10cm tall by 5 cm wide sticker was actually 5 x 10 cm ( yep they had stuck it on sideways). We got them to change feedback.
We have no idea what the issue is with the most recent one. There has been no communication at all. We'd dearly love to knowso that if there is a problem with the product we can fix it not just for them but for other buyers. I suspect howver that the actual problem was that it took a whole 10 days to get from Australia to Norway as our delivery stars took a hit as well.

Wouldnt even worry about it ๐
Ive bought from people over the years with negs because its their reply that counts. If someone is a psycho in the reply, i avoid them. If theyre calm & helpful, I know they will be calm and helpful to me in the event of a problem.
