Re: Error message when trying to load most eBay pages

Most members here recommend using Firefox or Chrome for eBay, it's far less glitchy than IE.

I never had any problem with Internet Explorer on my previous computer which was Windows 7.

EBay is becoming incompatible with IE, so might be time to upgrade to Chrome or Firefox. Best thing about those 2 is, you can install AdBlock Pro and never see an ad again.....on any webpage.

I read somewhere chooks that Microsoft is gettiing rid of IE on their new windows 10 (?) , so I guess there'll be no more updates sometime in the future for IE.

Hi *sheeps*.

We have adblock plus installed on all 5 browsers we use.

IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari.

Works well on all those. And like you we do not get blasted by ads any more.

Re: Error message when trying to load most eBay pages

I am using Windows 8 with the usual glitches, mainly the sign in loop, same as when I used 7 with IE. I never use the apps in 8 to go to sites, I downloaded a nifty program called Start8 which has your start screen looking and behaving like Windows 7. It has a 30 day free trial then a one off payment of $US 4.99 to keep it.

Firefox and Chrome have always worked much better with ebay.

Re: Error message when trying to load most eBay pages

Thank you for your advise. I am thinking it maybe something to do with Windows 8 or my settings on the new computer... but it is driving me nutty!!  Right now I just want to be back on my old computer, a lot quicker.

Happy New Year.

Re: Error message when trying to load most eBay pages

If I were you, I'd be downloading both Chrome and Firefox. Some people have better luck with Chrome, some have better luck with Firefox. I tend to have a LOT of tabs open all the time, which I find blows the CPU out in Firefox and I have to keep restarting it. I also find I get stuck in login loops on firefox too. Other people have the complete opposite.

I still usually have both browsers open because I have 2 facebook accounts and can have them both open at the same time. Plus, some websites work better in Firefox (for me). I still need to restart it at least once a day, even with only 3 tabs open (as opposed to Chrome which only gets restarted every week or so. If a tab is chewing too much memory, I can kill the process just for that tab and then reload it, whereas Firefox only has one process, so if one page is chewing too much memory, you have to restart the whole thing).

If you can't find where to find the AdBlock Plus/Pro extension, sing out. It's not hard once you know where to look.
