Express post with no tracking

Hi all,

I've just been notified that one of my express parcels has not arrived (sent 10th of dec) and there is no tracking record of it. Yes, i know that i can force them to scan at the post office but i can't make it in their hours and i order everything in bulk.

The buyer is going to ask around at their local PO today but in the event it's not there, what should the next action be? I've been around for a long time but i understand the system has changed!

I have no qualms about refunding if the item never made it and because i don't have a personal receipt for the item AP will do jack squat BUT how do i resolve with no defects? Buyer has been lovely so far so i don't think there will be any problems there.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, there are usually 3 tracking 'events' but this one has absolutely none. From reading a bit in these forums, it seems to be happening ALOT lately which is terrible for a 'premium' service.

Even if it was being treated as a regular parcel it should still have been scanned but who knows what goes on in those mysterious distirbution centres.

It was definitely in the proper post box and i sent other items at the same time that all arrived.

It's really annoying that you have to go into a PO to have things done right when they are only open standard business hours (if that).

True, for what is purportedly considered to be an essential service, AP should remain open for considerably longer hours than it currently does. Have they forgotten that most business people still work 9 to 5? I somehow think they have. POs should remain open until at least 7pm, even if it means delaying their opening until 11am - I could wear that, and I'm sure most others would too.

At the prices being charged, which I'll wager are some of the highest in the world, we should be receiving a far better level of service than we do at the moment, but it seems that as prices rise, the service diminishes proportionately and it's simply not good enough. And it's not as if we have an alternative service we can use, either.

You can exclude the UK from that list unless your parcel is under about 300g and even then there isn't a lot of difference. Try posting anything over 2kg and the price hits the stratosphere!

I have 2 POs in my town. The big one is in the main street and operates normal business hours. The smaller 'private' one is in a back street and has had extended trading hours for years. Weekdays they are open from 7am until 5.55pm. Saturdays they are open 7am to 11.55am. They heard the issues that shift workers and office workers were having, so have capitalised on it. I've used them quite a few times at 7am when I'm working a week of 7.30am - 6pm shifts.

The big one recently announced that they will be opening on Saturday mornings for a few hours......for parcel pick up. Big deal. it still won't get me to go there. Parking is a nightmare and they are as slow as anything. During the week you need to take a packed lunch because you wait so long. Sometimes I don't have a choice as the small PO only accepts delivery of small parcels. Larger parcels go to the big PO, so occasionally when I'm getting a bigger parcel I have to go down there to collect it.

The small PO, even if the line is running out the door, you are still in and out in 5-10 minutes. A line out the door at the big one could see you waiting half an hour (or more) sometimes.

Hi

Going to Western Australia?

Might your parcel been here?

A company I do work for lost 2 registered parcels in this incident and Australia Post

made them jump through all sorts of hoops before they agreed to pay the $100

automatic insurance on each registered item - both parcels were worth quite a bit more.

A company I do some part-time work for lost to registered parcels in this incident.

Australia Post were most reluctant to pay up the $100 automatic insurance on each parcel.

Thank you! That's very interesting! I'll call them again and see if they have any idea what parcels were actually on the truck.
