Feedback Overhaul

I believe the feedback system is outdated in needs a major overhaul. Unfair negative feedback is not good for the seller and definitely not good for eBay because it turns buyers away. In a time with so much online competition ebay does not want to lose business and needs to re-think its feedback policy.

Here's a few suggestions I have and your input would be appreciated.

1. Feedback should not be positive, neutral, negative. Scrap it. It should be just feedback comments. Buyers can still read through comments etc.

2. Sellers can leave comments for buyers (again not pos,neg etc.. just comments)

3. Feedback time limit should be 30 days. Why do buyers need 2 months to leave feedback?

4. Keep the DSR ratings. They are more rellevant and can be viewed with the comments.

Duplicate topic.  I left my comment in the first one already.  Once is enough.  ๐Ÿ™‚

The system as it is atm is pretty good. There are a number of transactions over the past few years where I have left the seller a positive feedback despite mistakes being made because they have done the right thing and rectified the issue and there isn't enough space to explain the process in the comments section and to be honest who wants to write an essay on the mechanics of each transaction.

Similarly, I had a transaction recently where negative feedback was left because the seller couldn't be bothered to tell me that there was an issue and nothing was done about getting my item to me until I wrote to them asking where my item was when I had received parcels from overseas that had been bought in the 2 days after that item.

The ability to provide the Positive, Neutral, Negative rating to describe the overall feeling of the transaction and then the DSR and a short comment pretty much covers it all.

The job of a seller is to turn over stock, and to do so in a profitable way. The ratings are there to ensure that is done in an honest open manner as much as possible. To reduce the detail in the Feedback section I feel would be a negative thing as it could allow poor sellers to profit from the buyers inability to sit there are read dozens, hundreds or even thousands of comments before making a choice to buy from someone. That percentage rating is an important sales tool, If you want to ensure your success, work towards keeping it at 100%, or as close as possible anyway. I know myself I won't buy from anyone with a rating less than 99.5% except in exceptional circumstances.

As a buy and a seller.. I hear what you're saying but as a buyer I wouldn't like the idea of ..

1. Feedback should not be positive, neutral, negative. Scrap it. It should be just feedback comments. Buyers can still read through comments etc

Simply because I wouldn't want to have to read through tons of feedback looking for the bad stuff about a product I may be interested in.

I also like the fact that if you disagree with bad feedback you can do something about it.

But I do agree that feedback time should be shorter and also mandatory and I also agree that it is unfair that sellers cannot leave bad feedback but instead just a mean postive's...

1-As ebay can't force a person to pay,how would they force a person to leave feedback ?

2-It's against ebay policy to leave a positive with a negative comment. If a member reports the seller, the comment will be removed, the member keeps their green dot & the seller cops a policy violation.

Presume #2 is not what you'd ever do just_kits or is that what you mean by the following is ok by you even though against ebay policy which you've ignored in the past yourself ?:|

Wow... really? I mean.. are you seriously going to attack everything I say on these forums because you happen to disagree with something I did 10 years ago even though I already said it was a mistake?? Also please stop from refering to me as someone who is OK with people breaking the eBay policy.

as for "2-It's against ebay policy to leave a positive with a negative comment. If a member reports the seller, the comment will be removed, the member keeps their green dot & the seller cops a policy violation."

I only mentioned it because I have seen a lot of other people in this forum say it's what they do all the time. I never said I did it or agreed with it. This is why there need's to be a better way for sellers to leave feedback.

Stop trolling me and just help this person out.

Feedback is fine but the star rating is stupid.  I have had people happy with everything but the postage time and  postage amount.

How the hell do i control Aust post. Even though I post everything the day after i receive there payment (except weekends)and charge only what Aust post charge no handling or packaging charges yet I have still had dopes say it took to long and it was over priced.

This is wrong. It should be that if the seller can prove buy receipt that it was posted with in the period ebay allowes and within a reasonable price to post that any poor rating left is invalid and removed. Other wise it is just false imput.

How the hell do i send something for less than it cost how the hell do i get it there any quicker seems absolutly stupid and clearly open to abuse buy buyers. Star rating sucks  feedback is fine.

OH one more thing I read on another post that a seller was concerned  about getting neg FB and was threatened with neg FB mgoogie was there name , Well if they have threatened you and you have had  neg feedback left just contact ebay and show them the email with the threat and it will be removed immediatly its ebay policy that you can not threaten a seller with neg feedback no matter what.  Dont no if i agree with that but its the rules.

Nay I have not left bad feedback for anyone but I know what you are referring to. eBAY already delt with that and of course saw in my favour. me and hubby have a double account which is approved by ebay, Hubby thought it was on his account when sending feedback. eBAY was of course informed and I left it up to them to do whatever they wanted. Clearly as it's still on my account nothing has happend. But feel free to contact them about if you would like.

Now I don't know what the other 2 breaches you are refering to but I can tell you right now that ever since I have been a member of ebay (Signed up myself the works) I have not comitted one breach. So yes you are trolling by refering to me as someone who likes to breach the rules. So knock it off. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
