For any item that sellers for $10 or less to an international buyer, the postage costs are high and therefore the eBay fees, Final Value and Advertising Standard, are calculated on the total the buyer paid and makes the sale worthless! Check out my last $9.95 sale from AU to the UK, ended up with -$0.12 out of my pocket not even including packing costs.
eBay Fees on Postage Needs to be Reviewed at best or removed completely, feels like a racket and not a service eBay is offering here.
The buyer is paying a huge price for an item like this and the only winners (other then the buyer) are eBay and Australia Post!
Fees on postage make selling some items worthless

It is not only on International Sales, The AuPost Calculator can give misleading / Conflicting results, my latest conflict was over a postage Calculated online at $58.65 Entering the Dimensions Lx W x D Up to 22kg. When presented at Au Post Counter it was $99.65 to Post @ 21kg. Item including Post $150, less FVF $20.90 Less $99.65 Postage, I didn't even cover Time to pack, Take to P/o & Upload the tracking info.

I often have discrepancies between the Postage amount I list at & Postage amount in eBay detailed summary, Anything from .50cents, to $1.05 in some cases. Never More, only Less, If i'm setting the amount, how are eBay Stealing from me?

I never said it was only international sales, I was replying to the OP's gripe
You need to put it the dimensions yourself and not rely on eBay guessing
You also choose if you choose to charge for your time
And as always, what the fees are
Or ask in personal at the post office first is even better
eBay are not about to scrap said fees after all these years due to seller error

End fees on postage and literally every item on Ebay will be sold for $1 plus postage.
need a new laptop?. that'll be $1 plus $3000 postage.
Need a new car? that'll be $1 plus $40,000 postage.
It's not going to happen. It's nonsensical. the issue here is you need to know your cost structure and price your products accordingly. User error I'm afraid
