Demanding 14.35% of the final value! (camera) E Bay has to be the most expensive place by far to sell anything. Correct me if I’m wrong but can anyone think of a more expensive platform to sell on?
Lots of platforms are way dearer. Auction houses, newspaper, the old Trading Post, just to name a few.
Do you expect eBay not to charge fees? Do you expect them to work for nothing? If they didn't charge fees, they would have been dead inside 6 months. Would you be willing to work for nothing? I thought so. You're allowed to make money, but eBay isn't?
It's up to you to check out fees and charges before you list. They aren't hidden. It's very easy to find them if you bothered to look. Don't worry if you decide not to sell anything on here again. Ebay certainly won't care. They don't even know you exist.

I've never imagined selling on ebay to be fun but I might try and see if it is fun, nope it's not fun at all.

I definitely agree with most of the complaints here. I've been with ebay for many years and in the last couple of years their fees have made ebay a very expensive way to sale. Buyers can request a return with just about any excuse even laying at times and you have to wear it. Personally I think ebay has taken away the fun of selling by jacking up their fees too much so I am considering looking for alternatives
I can tell you now, eBay will not miss your 2 listed items, nor the 2 sold items in the last 3 months. Nor do they care about your negative feedback.
You reckon eBay is expensive, stick and ad in your local paper and see what it costs you.
Me, I'm happy to pay the fees, because I get a worldwide audience with the click of a button. Im not saying I like the fees, who does, but for the audience, it's worth it. Mind you, given most of my items have a minimum 1000% profit, the fees are really nothing.
Do enlighten us to the alternatives, that give you the same audience as eBay? Amazon? Expect to pay in excess of 20% fees.Gumtree or Marketplace? Good luck with that.

I enjoy selling on ebay, but then I did not leave a high paying office job to do it which would make me think differently.
