Its now over a week since anyone commented on any of the threads on the powersellers board. Pity, it used to be a vibrant place once upon a time.

Sales have about reached a point where it's just no longer economically viable to continue with it. We've lost interest now.
We are currently running down our stock levels as best we can, taking down listings as we sell out.
We already have another business venture under way, which has already exceeded online sales, and it does not involve selling anything.
I may look in on the boards from time to time after we close down as my ID's will remain open.
Sorry to hear you are leaving us clarry. I think I just looked in the mirror.
You and I both started selling around the same time, we both cranked up to full time ebay sellers at the same time, both started extra stores at around the same time and like you, I have started another business that does not rely on selling stuff on the internet ( and like you it has well and truly surpassed my income from ebay. ) Again, like you my sales are declining, ( mainly due to an ebay technical fault discussed on other threads ) and I am starting to lose interest. I will continue to run my stocks down and eventually start closing stores with a view to " gettin outa Dodge......
Clarry, all the best with your new ventures, when the time comes for you to move on, you will be missed.

Oh no, not you too chameleon.
At least come to the boards occasionally.....you have so much to offer.
That goes for you too Clarry.....you have been a great contributor over the years.

Thanks Lyndal, I,m not planning on rushing to the door, but will slowly run down stock and listings over time. I am considering closing one of my stores fairly soon, but will keep the others quietly ticking over in run down mode. The main problem is the sheep grazing business is going extremly well and starting to bring in some serious money.
Having properties in the semi arid zone and also in high rainfall country is working a treat in the drought as I can move stock around depending on where the feed is. Although 65% of our country has only recieved 125 mm. of rain for the year, we look like having our best year yet, with young lambs moved from the drought affected property to the wet hills / coastal country and doing really well. Unfortunately this is taking most of my time and leaving little time for ebay.

This is a strong (and deplorable) example of how good sellers are being affected by eBay's behaviour and policies. It's not that online selling in itself has become untenable - but rather how those at the helm of eBay, making the decisions, deciding upon policies and implementations, have created a toxic environment for many sellers.
chamelon, clarry, I'm so glad that you both have other bows to your strings, and that your decision is at your own time, without suddenly being tossed into a whirlpool where you ceased to have control or right of appeal. I hope you stick around as posters and that your business venture, clarry, goes from strength to strength, and that your canny decisions with land, growth and beasts, chameleon, continue to reward you.

I do thank you one & all for the lovely wishes.
But it would never stop me from checking back in here from time to time, even tho we may not be sellers any more.
Over the years of selling and being a regular in here I learned so much from you all, which in the end enabled me to be a contributor in turn. I thank you all for that from the bottom of my heart. In particular, I learned from these boards, how to manage the difficult buyers so as to minimise damage to our selling accounts. Thankfully there have not been too many of them.
Equally I wish all the very best to each and every one of you, whether it be selling thru this platform or in some other bsuiness venture you may choose, as we have done.
But I'm not gone away quite yet either. We need to sell down all our stock yet. And we are hoping that will be by the end of this tax year.
What's left of it could end up going to our local kindy (just across the street) for the little ones to make use of as craft supplies.

Iโm compelled to chip in and have my say as a relative newbie. Weโve been back here about 12 months or so, but have found eBay these days, to be convoluted, tricky and heavily weighted against โgood and honestโ sellers. Itโs a minefield that can provide disastrous consequences for the uniniated, which I still consider myself to be.
It ought not be this way and it didnโt just happen of itโs own accord. The upper echelons of eBay in their own flawed and mistaken wisdom have made it so. Iโm not being nasty and in fact I always look for the good business reasoning behind any decision, or policy. Sometimes I find it and Iโm satisfied with the relevance and fairness of its existence. But I emphasise the word โsometimesโ and perhaps in context of how it applies to eBay itโs badly chosen. There is so much here in terms of โsupposedโ good progressive business policy that simply makes me shudder in my wee boots.
But, to my point. Thereโs newbies here every day - lots of them. I donโt see too many frequenting these forums, which means theyโre either a lot smarter than me and donโt need help, or they are otherwise suffering needlessly, and probably blindly in many instances, at the hands of eBay and a certain percentage of buyers that fit squarely within the โGrubโ demographic. I Believe it will be the latter.
However, Iโve been one of the fortunate ones, along with others, who have found enormous value here - education, much needed help, moral support, encouragement, advice, constructive critique, fun at times, and friendship. Itโs through these forums and people like Chameleon, Clarry and others who give unselfishly of their time to share their knowledge and experience that has helped me/us avoid many eBay pitfalls and โtrapsโ and the disappointment and loss associated with them. We are always in their debt. But then, the good people I speak of get to a point where theyโve had a gutful. More than a gutful of Fleabay and we lose them, their expertise and the hand of friendship. Well done Fleabay. Youโre a shining light of unadulterated, toxic harm and disappointment!
Like others before me Clarry and Chameleon, please accept my personal thanks for your guidance here and please know that I wish you both so well in your new endeavours. Like them too, I hope we donโt lose you altogether. That would be a terrible loss.
Onwards and upwards for you and good luck ๐
Melina.

I'm tempted to set myself up with a new account, using a VPN and register myself in China. Then I'd like to see how many people I can scam. It seems to be the done things these days and we all know the Chinese are untouchable. I'd be happy selling rainbow rose seeds or blue strawberry or corn seeds. Even Buddah shaped pears would work. It seems that the scammers are going great guns, yet the honest sellers are being shat upon.
I won't be out by the end of this financial year. I have too much stock to unload. I reckon I'll be done within 5 years though. By then this will be a pretty carpy place that exists on scamming. As much as I'd love to get on the scamming train, my conscience won't let me.

LOL. Funny you should mention that...
As you may/may not recall my wife is Chinese and still has her valid Chinese ID and of course her family address over there, and bank accounts, AliPay, WeChat and the whole 9-yards.
The thought crossed our mind at one point to actually set up an eBay account registered in China and trade as tho we were from there, but of course still mail out our stuff from here as we would normally do.
Just as an experiment to see how differently that account would be treated vis--vis rules interpretation as compared to our other accounts.
But never went ahead with it.
