I cant email EBay - what are they doing? Why cant I set the amount for a pre paid parcel 500g as what I get charged for it $8.25 - Ebay will only let me mark it as $7.20 if I want to change the amount I have to measure it WTF? Ebay you are making it very hard for people to sell items..geting annoyed with EBAY big time, does anyone have an easier suggestion to get around this? Thanks

I get around this by putting in some reasonable guesstimate measurements - say 10 x 10 x 15 (as long as the item itself is smaller than this). AP does not refer back to ebay when calculating postage so there is no cross reference.B-)

Have you selected Calculated Postage? If you have, change it to Flat same cost to all and then select the satchel from the drop down list in the next box and you should be able to put any amount in.

no it didn't work and this is the message I get:
In certain categories for flat-rate postage, sellers need to specify in the first postage cost field an amount less than or eq...postage limit. The limit includes any handling and/or insurance charges. It applies only to the firs...

That's odd. There used to be a flat rate max on book listings but that was removed a while ago. Sorry, I don't know why you're getting that message.
Try going to the last item that you listed and click on sell similar and go from there.

sounds like your TurboLister is out of date, with the old Book postage.
Update the TL and you may be ok

I am trying to list a CD - this is the first time ive listed a music cd.

There is a postage cap on flat rate in certain categories, including CDs.
If it needs to go in a 500gm satchel, you need to use calculated postage. Select the 500gm satchel from the dropdown menu and the price for the satchel will be entered. If you want to add an amount for handling, you can do that separately so that the total shown to anyone looking at the listing is satchel price + handling charge.

Put any weight and dimensions in you like. I use 251g and 10x10x10. It doesn't matter as long as you put something in for 'Calculated' postage. Selecting the satchel, which is flat-rate, overrides the dimensions for the item.
