Free listing promotion is not free

I have just received the latest free listing promotion to list as many items from 26.2.19 - 5.3.19

All looks good until you try to use it.

You will still get charged $1.65 for each one.

Not happy.

We also got them on all ids including our store.

We definitely won't be activating them after reading this.

Anyway, we still have enough free listings left in our store, and are running the non-store listings down, so don't need them at the moment.

Is this the "Pay no Insertion Fees on any items items you list until 5th Mar. T&Cs apply.

When I click through to the T&C's, it tells me its for Insertion & FVF - however only on 10 items.  (copy paste below).

Does all of yours say this?

Usually if it's a specific number of items it tells you in the Name of the Offer.

  • Pay no Insertion Fees or Final Value Fees for the first 10 items you list and make available for purchase during the Promotion Period (see exclusions below).
  • Insertion Fees are the fees to list your item, and Final Value Fees are the selling fees charged on sale of an item, calculated as a percentage of your total sale price. The promotion does not apply to fees for optional features or upgrades. Learn more about eBay fees

Yes, I presume it means  any number of listing will not attract insertion fees, but only the first 10 will not attract FVF.

Also noted under the Exclusions,  Relisted items are not elegible.  So that probably explains why it only works with sell similar.

Have not decided if I will take up the offer or not yet,  might be worth 10 listings

The promo only works freely if you do "sell similar"  I can only relist one at a time from my unsolds this way.

and you only get the 8 auto free relists if you do auction.

at least with auction your items are on for 90 days instead of 30. Also you don't have to watch them like a hawk and end them before they run out and you get charged.

when the auctions finish after 90 days you just relist at your leisure.

The promo only applies until the item relists, so while the free auto relist will apply the  Free FVF on first 10 items will not carry over.

they really are indian givers, not that i am insulting indians.

It is just a saying when you give with one hand and take away with the other hand.

I really think they are trying so hard to get rid of sellers. They are making us jump through some serious hoops.

At times it just gets a bit too hard. If I wasn't selling for other people, I think I would just give up.

I'm not sure they realise that without sellers, there's no buyers and no income.

They should be bending over backwards for sellers, and making it easier not harder.

And could they please just give us FREE listings that ARE ACTUALLY FREE.

I didn't see that 10 items bit.

I have been able to list more than 10 on another account, but only by using "sell similar" one at a time.

It's a real pain as I have a lot of relisting to do - hundreds of items one by one. Grr

OMG I just noticed something else I missed.

It's only for people who have never sold  on ebay before and those that haven't sold in the last 12 months.

Also it is not for relisting items.

Why give it to us if we can't use it?

Sell similar is still working so that is what i will do.

Why can't they just treat us like they want us to be here?

I have had a full on stress out melt down since 19th of Feb, and it doesn't seem like there is an end to it any time soon.

so angry and frustrated.

Yes, but in the T&C's  it also says that you are elegible if you have received the offer from ebay, and where to check your account to confirm elegebility.  And like always accepting the offer indicates that you have read/understood and accept the  T&C's

Lots of relisting. Or you could just list the standard 40.

it is not only for people who've never sold. By definition if you get the offer and accept it, you can use it. As you've found.

I think if people want stuff for free it won't hurt them to do a little bit of work for it.  Most people don't really value things if they don't have to earn them.
