Free shipping from China

I hope I’ve managed to copy the link correctly, but the article talks about President Trump end Free Shipping from China.

It appears the American Govco was subsidising it. If we are, it should stop here immediately too.

Re: Free shipping from China

With all due respects I would suggest that you do not fully understand the complexities of the UPU agrreement.  Perhaps if you did a Google search on the subject that would help.

Then check AP oputward bound rates to 1st/2nd  world foreign countries vis-a-vis the inbound rates and t you will see APrates are already quite expensive.  Hence no reason to raise prices

What we are talking about on this thread is about Australian taxpayers subsiding inbound postage costs from these so called 3rd world countries.  When I can buy an item for A$0.90 delivered from China, yet it would cost me $8.30 to mail the same item to my next suburb, it is blatantly obvious something is horribly wrong, somewhere.

Re: Free shipping from China

I understand the subject.

What I said was that if one country is going to raise their rates under the agreement then others will too.

As AP is always complaining of running at a loss now they will not sit back and accept any increase in outgoings without increasing postal rates for all mail.

And no, I don't believe AP is running at a loss now but they don't need much of an excuse to hit the general public with increases.
