Just a minor tale to share and seeking thoughts from others in the know.
I listed an item tonight at 5.30pm, it's now 8.20pm and the item still has not gone live...so can anybody explain how I've already had 8 Page Views on the item when Buyers can't even see the listing??????
Has eBay now taken to "fudge" figures on Sellers listings to make it look like there are actually heaps of potential Buyers, when in truth it doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

...also, once they are live but not available in searches, sometimes, your regular buyers have you on Saved Sellers, and check their Saved Sellers every hour or two, and they see the items before they are generally available in ordinary search by keyword.

Searche engines like Bing, Yahoo and google do crawl web pages to assign them rankings in their own search results, which does account for page views sometimes (including those on forums), but that doesn't tend to happen until a web page is live and therefore can be returned in a general search engine result - it can also take hours to do sometimes. I'm sure eBay have their own bots, though.
I have always found my listings appear and are searchable within 5 minutes - usually straight away, with the exception of a couple the took a while when they were designer brand name gear, and one that disappeared for 24 hours after being revised. I use the online SYI form, though, and have often wondered if whether using Turbo Lister makes them take longer to be indexed etc.
