Getting a selling limit increase

I've just gotten off the phone with ebay and am pretty unhappy with the response, thought I would check if their 'facts' are correct here.

I have sold on ebay on this account for a long time now. I recently opened up a second account to split my stock between two stores for various reasons.

The second account (Accout B) has a selling limit of 100 items a month (this original account, Account A, is very old and has no visible limits).

The man on the phone says that I cannot have this increased until 90 days after first sale AND 25 selling feedback (not buying)

The 90 days isn't so bad, I sold 5 items (and got 3 feedback) back in november so that will be up in a few days actually. It's the feedback thats getting me.

So I'm paying for a store which I can't actually use, can only list 100 items a month, and have to actually recieve feedback for 25 of them (which probably means selling at least 50) before I can actually list to my stores potential, is this correct? I resent paying $20 a month for a store I can hardly use, but they wont refund the first 30 days of a store subscription either.

I had originally been placing some of my older, and as such slower selling, stock on the new account, hoping it might be freshened up on the search results, but now I'm rethinking that strategy, perhaps I need to be listing the newest, and quickest selling stuff to try and get as many sales as possible. But then that will mean that the profits from my nicest items will be tied up with paypal for 3 weeks or more! Maybe I'll just have to suck it up to get those 25 feedbacks as quickly as possible, and then I can begin putting the older stock up on the new account after that... since the store gives me 200 free listings and I only have 70 up on the new account right now, I could take all those down, put them back over here, and start listing this weeks fresh stock over there I guess...

Not happy jan...

Before I invest time into this, can anyone assure me that once I get the 25 selling feedbacks (by which time I will be 90 days post first sale) that I will get my limit increase? I ask because, when I called about limits back in november, the lady I spoke to said they couldn't increase twice in one month (the 10 listings up to 100 listings increase), but she saw no problems and just call back next month and I should be able to get it increased without a problem, and I remember reading on here that limit increases just meant talking to ebay about my 'selling goals', I didn't know there was even a sales requirement for a limit increase. It seemed to me the ones he was quoting were the paypal money release limits actually, but he referenced my actual selling limit so I assume this now applies to both?

Getting a selling limit increase

On our newest account (which is now just more than 90-days old) we never had any trouble phoning them and requesting increased limits. We did that a couple of months in a row and no worries. They looked also at our other older selling accounts and took those into consideration too.

Then out of the blue about 3-weeks ago they sent us a message to say that our limit has been increased to 6000 or $7500. We didn't even ask. So that's good for us now for a while until we build our listings up.

So who knows what their criteria is for issuing these limit changes.

Never had a problem, I have mutiple accounts but not store, they increased my selling limits by checking that I had an established paypal account.

On their very own help page, and after seeing these messages, I read this

  • Before being eligible for your first limit increase, you need to establish 45 days of selling history. This demonstrates that you’re creating positive experiences for your buyers.

So I called back, the same department as before, and they say they need to pass me onto a different department in order to do that which has already closed for the day. I have a feeling the previous person I spoke to was an idiot who was just quoting the paypal holds to me. So I guess I'll try again tomorrow

Of course, I've already ended all my old auctions in preperation for adding the new ones, so if I do get it increased now I am still out 60 free listings. This is just... very frustrating right now.

Ha ve you clicked on request higher selling limits under Monthly selling limits?

The operators go through a process and they require you to click on this first (as an automated process) then you get a message saying call us, at least that is what happened to me,

I did click that link, but the contact us link on the next page was broken and kept routing back to the same page. <_<

I started a new account, was just over 12 months ago though. The original limit was 100, when I phoned and linked exisitng account with recent sales and good standing they increased the limit to 300. I was told I could get limit increased after that but I haven't needed to.
