Getting money back from Australia Post for lost item that was sent with an eBay label

Australia Post have confirmed to me that an item I sold is lost (stolen off a truck apparently).

They say I should get a refund through eBay since they are the ones who took my money for the label.

How do I do this?

I think Aust Post reply is incorrect - even if you paid ebay for the label, ebay pay Aust Post.   I would follow up again with Aust Post - quoting the tracking.

If you select and purchase Australia Post Delivery Services through the eBay Label Printing Service, these terms and conditions, in addition to the Australia Post Terms and Conditions, will form a contract between you and Australia Post to govern the provision of the Delivery Services and use of the Postage Labels.

I am assuming you have some tracking, showing the item was with Aust Post when it was lost?

your refund will be limited to $100 unless you have purchased the additional insurance cover.

I got on to an ebay Agent.  They have directed me to contact Aus Post.  They were quite helpful, giving me the email address to send the refund request to and what information they will need.
