Global Shipping Program HUGE Increase

Why does it now cost between $100 to $200 US. to send 12 magazines from the US to Australia. Postage is 5 times the cost of magazines. Recently all the postage pricing went up almost %50. How is this possible. Talk about price gauging. How much profit will they make when nothing gets sent overseas due to ridiculous postage costs.

Sellers are unaware of the huge postage costs forced on them by Global shipping program and were not advised that postage has risen so much. 

Why is there no control over what is happening with ridiculous International Postage costs..

IF it's 12 separate listings then they have to be sent in 12 different parcels. If that's the case ask the seller to put them all in one listing for you, then buy the items.

IF the seller hasn't inputted the dimensions and weight the the GSP "guesses" the size.

How is the seller(s) being forced to use the GSP?

And how were they unaware of the cost?

Who was suppose to be advising sellers?

There is control

Don't use the service in question

Don't send/buy from overseas 

Use the proper weight/size/measurement etc when lisitng

Don't like the costs, don't support them

Sandy, ebay automatically puts seller's listings into the GSP.

They are not aware - they only post domestically and are unaware they have made an overseas sale.

They have to be made aware and opt out.

OP give your seller these instructions -

Oh, I know eBay do (as they do many things with the seller's knowledge) 

It's been posted about/suggested a few times on here that buyers need to tell sellers etc 

and the seller needs to agree of course 

Still, there is the choice not to buy first and complain later 

And not to buy from sellers who don't reply or don't 'want to opt out'

G'day Thanks for the input. The issue was not just with this one transaction. Which I did not purchase due to extreme postage costs.

Recently, all of the USA postage prices went up dramatically. 

A heap of items that had postage charges for $40 to $60

all of a sudden ask $120 to $250 US.. for postage..

Another example is for one magazine Global shipping program is asking $55 US.

Only people from Australia buying from the US a d UK would notice the huge price increase.

Welcome to the club. A few years ago FedEx TRIPLED their postage from West Coast USA to Australia.

Do what I did - find alternatives.
