Gotazz

Thank you gotazz. touche.gif(and of course all the others involved)

eBay is an internet site trusted by members to follow the rules in order to facilitate transactions.

It is predominently utilised by genuine members seeing the benefits of what such a site has to offer.

However there are the few that decide to operate outside of eBay rules in unscrupulous ways for selfish gains.

I first discovered the eBay community long after joining eBay and quickly found some very knowledgable people here.

As I have often taken time to assist others, I soon found the answer centre was a way to give something back to eBay.

But what struck me as remarkable was the hijack hunters.

Here were eBay members, out of their own time, using a thread in community to warn others and assist each other in having listings or members removed.

This appeared to be a continuous, almost full time job, with so many listings to report.

And I always admired the honourable vigilante ways these members conducted in making eBay a better place for the rest of us.

I cannot fathom the amount of time gotazz and others of the Hijack Hunters have spent for our benefit.

The Hijack Hunters thread no longer exists but the work of gotazz and others continue with systematic reporting of fraudulent listings.

It is for people like these committed members that we are able have a reasonably organised and more honest field to conduct our business in. (Even though there are still many dishonest account holders)

For that, I am sure I speak for many, I truly thank all those involved in cleaning up a facility used by so many members unknowing of what transpires behind the scenes.

Seeing as eBay won't acknowledge the good work done by many eBay community members, I have taken it upon myself to recognize such and always remember the people behind the scenes.

You are the best gotazz and co.

Re: Gotazz

I fully concur with your thoughts Kopes, Taz and all the others deserve medals for trying to shut down the scammers - it's a crying shame that T & S appear to be unconcerned about shutting them down and how easy it is for the mongrels to operate.

Re: Gotazz

It is very frustrating and can be very time consuming. I've spent a lot of my free time reporting scam listings. I have to take a break every now and then because it starts to consume you. If a seller only has a few items it's not too bad, but when you have a bold one who has 50 or 100 fake listings, it really does take a lot of time. When the report seller link is ignored, there's then the messages sent to eBay directly.

You are right though, Tazz does spend a heck of a lot of time trying to put a stop to the scammers, for very little thanks. There are certainly quite a few others that take the time too. Absolute champions!

Re: Gotazz

Looks like the mods moved posts so it now appears in triplicate.

Sorry guys but I thought they were fine where they were as not everyone visits other boards.

Oh well, we live and learn.

I think I can speak for the others and say thanks mate,(appreciated),Thank you.gif

There were some very good scam hunters on the original HH's thread and they deserve most of the credit,(

they helped teach a number of members in how to find and report scam listings).

I'm grateful with what I learned from them as it allowed us to find and report a high number of scammers on

the HH's thread when it was still up,(plus the current ones that still appear on a regular basis).

Unfortunately it's an ongoing concern as there will always be scammers where there is a possibility that they

can rip off gullible people,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

I would also like to thank the others that help find and report scam listing,(each one that's reported will

have a quicker chance of being removed),ok.gif

There is always the hope that eBay will become more active in actually finding and then removing scammers

from this site,(until then IMHO there will always need to be members that will find and report scam listing

to stop them from ripping off gullible members),good.gif
