Would'nt it be wonderful when Australia Lost goes up for privatization, Greedbay could buy it and really nail the little guy to the wall.

I rang up and asked if a seller anciently over charges for postage, does the right thing and refunds the difference Greedbay WILL not refund you .

They want to encourage "free" postage, which is all well and good for big companies. Seems the billions they earn isn't quite enough anymore.

Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to use ebay. Instead of refunding postage if you had just reinvoiced with the correct amount before they paid you would not have been charged on the higher amount, why should ebay be concerned if you stuff up and quote the wrong postage. If you had undercharged and the buyer chose to pay the extra would you have contacted ebay and offered them the extra fvf you would have been charged had you had the right amount on the invoice?

Bit mean phorum-junkie, sometimes you don't have time to send an amended invoice, not all of us sit in front of the computer 24 hours a day...

like the GST, our prices are so easily beaten by sellers in other counries with better postage rates that we are all just absorbing the FVF on postage so as to just make the sale so to speak.

I certainly don't spend 24/7 at a computer, I am rarely there at the time an auction item ends but I make very sure that I quote the correct postage in the first place. If I did't then it is my mistake and if I owed the buyer a refund I would just accept the few cents extra in fvf as a just punishment for being a numpty in the first place.

When it comes to combined discounts I tell buyers to wait for a combined invoice before payng, if they don't and pay individually then they get what they paid for, X numbers of parcels with full postage on each.

I am surprised they have not sung the praises of epay getting hacked … oh that;s right … it was not their fault.

.

The defences of epay are sometimes a little weak ... eg ... the defence above ....

.

"When it comes to combined discounts I tell buyers to wait for a combined invoice before paying" ...

.

A bit hard when they buy and pay immediately,

.

Which epay encourage

.

I have a case at present ... My regular customer bought three items and paid for the three items immediately ... three lots of $13.40 postage

.

(which epay have charged 10% of = $4.00 ... certainly not just a few cents extra in fvf)

.

and on a combined purchase like this I would normally give a discount to my customer (which is why they are a regular) ...

.

Normally I would give the discount and return the excess postage as a credit through PayPay ....

.

But as epay have already debited their FVF to my account I am going to be further out of pocket

and if you do that now, and request a fvf refund from ebay (which is quite an annoyingly long process), you will end up with a ''defect'' on your Dahboard for 'refunding....... ebays newest RULE

It has been my suspicion for quite some time that eBay wants to get rid of the sellers of second hand goods (to Gumtree, which they own, for example) and turn itself into a seller of mass-produced-in-China-free-postage-because-it's-subsidised items, a sort of Amazon.com mark II.

The recent FVF on postage and strong 'encouragement' to incorporate postage into selling price (easy for mass produced items with known postage cost) confirms this strategy.
