Would'nt it be wonderful when Australia Lost goes up for privatization, Greedbay could buy it and really nail the little guy to the wall.

I rang up and asked if a seller anciently over charges for postage, does the right thing and refunds the difference Greedbay WILL not refund you .

They want to encourage "free" postage, which is all well and good for big companies. Seems the billions they earn isn't quite enough anymore.

As in the words of Gordon Gecko, Greed is good.

Yeah, a bit mean phorum junkie...Some buyers are so bloomin impatient that they just dont wait for you to go to the loo . wash your hands and get back to the computer. Happens to me at least 3 times a week...Thats why I printed off a credit note I put in their order to be used in three months ..they email me and say. " hi Lou, I have a credit for ------ can I take it off  my  next order or can you add such n such to  it ?"

Never had a problem and saves me time as well refunding etc

Ha...even if you had a bloomin flashing light that says DONT PAY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE COMBINED INVOICE!! they still pay. Not all of them, just the wham bam thankyou mam! ones.....Im over it. I used to refund, but not now...The credit note works well ( for me any way) may not work for people who sells say porcelin dolls...

Those customers who pay immediately and don't wait for the revised invoice, probably don't care that they are paying a bit extra in postage.

My strategy now is to only refund if the overpaid p&h is way more than the postage, packaging and handling actually cost but now I take out the 9.9% FVF paid on that postage and refund what is left.

You don't get a defect for partial refunds due to overpaid p&h. At least I haven't yet and I make around 10 refunds per week. Unfortunately my products are almost always purchased in multiple quantities so I often find buyers purchasing 10 items, not waiting for revised invoice but paying immediately. I gotta say I'd rather get that immediate payment - if they haven't paid immediately, it is so easy to forget to pay at all.

I know the ACCC hasn't been interested in eBay's latest actions, but I honestly doubt eBay would be able to purchase AP. Imagine if/when a company like Amazon set up full operation in Australia and one of their prime competitors owned the only postal service in Australia that delivers to a good percentage of Oz addresses...

Have to admit I am a pay immediately type buyer, I don't always even think of combined post or whatever, I just want my seller to get the money ASAP.

I have been a seller and I know I loved my BIN customers, but now I realise as a buyer, sometimes, I am doing the wrong thing.

But, in my defence, I would never ask a seller later to refund any extra I paid in postage because of my impatience.

The sellers I have dealt with have often put cash in my parcel, or refunded via paypal for additional post, or popped in a freebie and it has been a surpise to me when I have discovered it. Appreciated but not expected.

Now with the fvf on post, and all the other hoops you guys have to jump through because of the demerit's or whatever for refunds, I will be more aware and try to do the right thing.

Maaan - it never used to be this hard !!! Did it??

Normally I would give the discount and return the excess postage as a credit through PayPay ....

.

But as epay have already debited their FVF to my account I am going to be further out of pocket

and if you do that now, and request a fvf refund from ebay (which is quite an annoyingly long process), you will end up with a ''defect'' on your Dahboard for 'refunding....... ebays newest RULE

Sorry - what? This is nowhere on my defect rate table and I can't find any other information - can someone please point me to this "policy"?

I refund at least once a week because I post at letter rate, and there is nothing in the eBay system that allows a "up to 4 of this item is $2, and after that it's $3". Only, "one is $2" and add an amount for each additional item. So I always end up refunding (and yes, I DO tell people to wait for an invoice, but half of them do not).

Happy to suck up the lost FVF, but if it's going to count against me every single time I refund, then I have no choice but to leave.

At first we had sellers COMPLAINING about buyers not paying straight away, NOW sellers are complaining about when a buyer does pay straight away. Come on sellers make up your mind.......

No ones complaining about sellers who pay straight away or visa versa.......more to it than that

Dont request a fvf refund on the postage difference. take that on board as a bonus discount for multiple buys, or simply refund diference minus fvf..Its not a big cost for the effort involved.

I have done plenty part refunds for various reasons, non are showing as defects.

I don't refund if they overpay.

If they pay over the amount needed for express then I post express.

If they are happy to the uncombined postage then it's fine with me.

I don't want to screw up my book-keeping for their mistake.
