Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

I was just sitting here, funnily enough reading this forum, when I could hear a motorbike outside. I thought awesome, mail man is here.

I wait, for a knock or for him to take off, but he is taking too long so I peer out the window.....and what do I find?

Postman writing out a card for me to pick up item from post office!

What the? He didn't even attempt to come to my front door to see if I was home to sign for it!

Well didn't he just cop of mouthful from me!

If I was very unhappy with Aus Post's service in general I'd  tell them and I'd tell you. People are allowed to give examples of bad service they've received.

No one is saying you can't deja.  Noddeg and I are asking that you look at it from the other side, the pay isn't enough for the hours or work you put in

Unfortunately - this is the perfect example of the 'service' only being as good as the 'employee's who carry it out'

I doubt half the time they even bother to fill out the card.

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

Reflex answer to a different point of view, more likely.

I would certainly complain about a postie who automatically carded, especially if it was his regular run.

What a postie is paid to do the job is irrelevant. They are paid to do the job. Properly. If they don't like it, they get another job. Simple.

If you want long hours for bugga all and heaps of abuse, try driving a taxi.

NO! I offered, along with others, a balanced well thought out viewpoint, they offered nothing, not even an example of any problems they had with aussie post,

This is trolling, you should know, you are one.

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

I had my brand new scrabble board left on my doorstep last Thursday.

I live in a ground floor unit with a front door clearly visible from the street and the parcel had a big red sticker on it "do not safe drop".

No excuse for doing that no matter what hours you work or what you get paid.

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

BTW if we are going to have a competition as to who has the worst job, so far posties and taxi drivers, well what about police, nurses and bus drivers? I bet they all say they have a thankless job with low pay and long hours.

So lets not get bogged down in "why I am worse off than you, woe is me" sort of nonsense.

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

My guy is terrific!

He drives his van right to the door, rings the doorbell, goes back to his van, gets the parcel (usually 10 kilos or more) puts it in front of my door and then waits in his van to wave goodbye...

I love him :-x

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

One time I got a bit cranky with the bloke at the post office because of his insolent attitude about a lost (registered, high value) package I wanted to track .... and the two new (unregistered, low value) packages I sent that day both got 'lost in the mail'.

Of course there was no way I could prove he'd ripped them off or dumped them. but

I've registered everything ever since.
