Just thought I would share, so others know what dangers are out there.
I got this message today after making a sale:
I didn't believe it for a second, why would someone make a purchase before fixing the account details?
I checked paypal and it was paid for by the person being accused of hacking.
I immediately called ebay. and they have cancelled the transaction. I was a bit disappointed, but not really surprised, to discover that there was already a note attached to the account about it being hijacked 5 days ago.
So, look after yourselves, it's possible that ebay aren't freezing hijacked accounts. Although I'm going to make the assumption that the account holder didn't learn their lesson, didn't properly secure their account, and it got hijacked again.
Use good passwords, use 2 factor, and be suspicious when things sound wrong.

I'm that suspicious, not by nature, but because of some of the things I've read here since our return, that I keep a real close watch on my own shadow!!
Just one suspicious move and it's gornsky 🙂
Good luck and thanks for the heads-up.
Melina.

The other day, I received an eBay notification stating that a buyer had reported their account as hijacked and the purchase unauthorised, so they also cancelled the transaction and advised me not to post, or if I had, to try and retrieve the package.
The only problem was, the purchase was made 3 weeks earlier, and on the same day the same buyer purchased the same item from one of my other stores, just in a different colour, both going to the same name and same address.
I find it difficult to believe someone would go to the trouble of hijacking an ebay account in order to make an almost identical low value purchase, and pay for it with a non-hijacked PayPal account. 😕
Could you please let us know the outcome for this one. After three weeks they must have received the parcel from both you and the other seller ?? So they cancelled then. Did you get the items back or are you out of pocket as well as losing the items?

I actually intentionally left out the full details for a few reasons, but I can send you a message about what happened if you'd like (I probably won't be back to the boards again until later tonight, so it might be a while before I can do so).
