I've had 100% positive feedback since joining in 2007. Have just received 1st negative from buyer. They didn't bother to contact me prior to leaving it - There was a mark on the product that I hadn't noticed so I refunded full price + postage. I left an apology on the reply feedback with note to say this was the first negative ever. Is there any way to get back my 100% rating or has my reputation been tarnished forever. I am quite distraught because we haven't had a problem like this before. If you read our feedback history you can see why I'm so upset.

spot, I sell under two ids, if you see my latest I'm in a similar plight to you. I'm not happy when buyers leave feedback and don't bother contacting you first, so you have th eopportunity to put it right. I checked my buyer and sure enough they'd left 3 or 4 neutrals within a short time of 27 feedback. some people seem to like putting people down - sad to say.
seriously if you have have almost 100% feedback potential purchasers will see it for what it really is, one disatisfied buyer, which no-one could please. carry on and don't let it bug you - really - lifes too short. and you can reply to feedback left, so tell it like it is .............and also add to yrblocked buyers list.

that negative would not stop me from buying from you if you listed something I wanted. I know the pain that even one negative can cause (I have one on my main ID) but one negative in close to 2375 feedback is pretty good going.

I feel sorry for you as I have been in same situation. Buyer claimed item was the wrong size so a refund was given, also a satchel sent for return. Absolutely no contact with me before leaving negative feedback and to add insult to injury she kept the item. . 2nd negative was much the same, buyer claimed wrong size even though it was listed with correct measurements and sizing. I offered refund on return and surprise, surprise, the listing WAS absolutely correct, the buyer had just changed her mind but left negative feedback because I refused to send a second satchel for their return. I disputed it with eBay, they agreed that the negative feedback was unfair but that it didn't fit their criteria for removing the feedback, how is this possible, they agree that what was done was wrong but dont agree to do anything it or about saving my hard earned reputation. Seems to me that the seller is always judged as guilty of wrongdoing but the buyer always has the right to say whatever they want without any comeback. Honest sellers rely on their feedback and work hard to maintain it, buyers now have carte blanche to say whatever they like with no thought to damage they do. So many rude customers out there, no manners, not enough decency y to get in touch with seller beforehand, and know they can get away with it , and I fear nothing is going to change. mag4u2

I have had a similar problem a long time ago. My solution was to go on a buying spree, not for the goods but to get positive feedback.
100 positive feedback will put you at 99.6%. Do advanced search on stamps, free postage, BIN, price up to $1 = Hundreds at $1.00
So as sellers only leave positive feedback your $100 should produce 100 positive feedback and your feedback will rise to 99.6%
Best wishes

I wouldn't go on a buying spree. Buyers are savvy enough to know to look at your feedback as a seller if they see many buyer feedback on your first couple of feedback pages. They may skip your feedback as a seller altogether and just click straight onto the neg and then not see any other seller feedback you have.
As I posted previously, that neg would not stop me from buying from you. And to be honest, if a buyer gets picky over whether you have a 99.2% feedback or 99.6% feedback then I would rather not deal with that buyer. You have just 1 negative from over 2300 feedbacks, it will go from your feedback % this time next year. Your reply to the neg is a good one, and when it is in among other feedback you have received as a seller it will not affect your selling too much.
You can request a feedback revision from the buyer, but I would message them first to see if they are open to doing a revision as you only get one go at requesting a revision. So as to not sound too needy you could mention in the message that you would appreciate it if they would consider changing their feedback from a negative to a neutral or a positive. By mentioning the neutral you don't come across as sounding too needy, and they still get the chance to give a feedback that is not positive. The good thing about neutrals is they have no effect on your feedback %.
Good luck with this, I wish you well.

Yes just another one of the many flaws in ebay
.
Why people (buyers and sellers) are leaving in droves
.
This is why ebay have to give 100 free listings to people to try and lure them back
.

How is it a flaw? A seller should of course refund if they have stuffed up but that still doesn't mean the buyer has had a positive experience, they wanted a particular item in good condition and that is not what they have received. If your reason for refunding was in the hope of avoiding a neg that to me is the wrong mind set.
You are nearly up to 2,000 feedback and once you go over that your score should go back to 100%
