eBay has restricted my account for 7 days because of a selling violation. A buyer messaged me asking to pick up an item. I never usually allow this, but for some reason this time I made an exception. Because I had never sold an item for cash pick up before I wasn't sure of the procedure and just ended the listing after they had paid. I sell hundreds of items a month so it should be clear I wasn't trying to cheat the system. I called and explained my situation and offered to pay the fees I unintentionally avoided but the representitive I talked to rudely tried to tell me I knew exactly what I was doing. Yes, in years and years of selling 1000's of items on eBay all this time I was plotting an elaborate scheme to cheat ebay out of their $7 cut of a $100 item...
eBay is my sole source of income. It's not much. I have bills to pay (including my eBay bill). If anyone knows anyway I can get this sorted PLEASE help me.

The restriction just means you can't list anything for 7 days.
You can still sell your items that are listed.
I think you just have to do the time.

From my knowledge from what I've read on these boards getting any suspension lifted is extremely difficult to do.
You might try calling again to see if you can get a more sympathetic CSR or even request to speak with a manager.
Either way I wish you luck with it.

It was this account. My partner said the same thing? It seems unusual. I wonder if it waits until checkout to tell the buyer the item can't be purchased.
I don't know how I'm going to pay my eBay bill but I heard the penalty for not paying could be account restriction...

Oh really? I just cant list any new items?! That is fine if that is the case?

Didn't the email say what the exact restrictions were?
If your listings are still visible, then it seems it's just a listing restriction

It just said my buying and selling privleges have been restricted. I assumed that meant I couldn't buy or sell for 7 days? Even when I called and argued that I needed to sell they didn't mention it. It's bizzare. I've just sold an item so it seems fine...
